I have found a way to make Fenrir work in this game as a Primal

Let me start off with this. It isn't a fight I propose but Jobs learning skills from good natured primals. Read it all instead of assuming. Going to be some steady editing so check back.

With all of the hum-drum lately about once great summons getting no respect in this game I've decided to do what any logical person would do. That is to find a way to make it work for both parties. I am going to use Fenrir as the basis for the proposal so here we go...

Fenrir could become the new mastery trainer of Warriors. That is to say he could be the original Warrior from whom the first humanoids learned the skills. Much like the legendary Monk guy (can't recall his name) learned from Couerls. Now as far fetched as it seems if you think about it, it could work. One of their abilities is called Inner Beast. Now while not totally a berserker style class they lean heavily towards it given they have huge hp pools and even in Defiance they hit pretty hard compared to Paladins in Shield Oath. Also Fenrir being a gigantic wolf whose power is primarily of the moon or moons depending on which title seems to fit the bill. Now this is where some aspects of XI come in. From what I gather he wasn't weak. Most likely had a great deal of health and defense. If you combine those aspects with the fact that he is, once again, a hulking wolf whose is made stronger by the moon and rage he would be a perfect candidate to be a master trainer of the Warrior job.

How would this work? Primals as a whole have been enemies bent on killing us on sight. With the exception of Ramuh of course. Let me put it this way. Curious Gorge could say "I have nothing more to teach you and the book has nothing else to say other than seek the first... *grumble* Coerthas *grumble* Snowcloak." Then after some more conversation you go as a Warrior and after you beat the dungeon you get a cutscene where Fenrir speaks to you and tells you to meet him in some secluded cavern or choice locale. From there to prove you do not mean him further harm or just to test you to see if you are worth training further he puts you to some trials. After completing them you return and there you go.

What would he teach you? Well for starters he could help you unlock the true potential of your skills. Say Defiance gives you a 1000 hp boost when activated (throwing a number out there for example) and improves your enmity generation. He could double the hp and make it 2k. See what I am getting at? There is potential to be had in this. True it isn't a battle to rid Eorzea of a threat but it gives him a meaningful plot while keeping him a primal.

If I come up with more ideas concerning Fenrir or for that matter another under used or unused summon from yester year for another job I'll post it here. If you guys and gals have ideas post them. Just keep it civilized.

Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.

But first you need to bring him 1000 crystal clusters from each element ^^

That would suck hardcore. What I had in mind isn't quite so... painful lol. I'm trying to formulate a plot right now but between pain meds for my back and work on my mind it is becoming difficult to retain what I deem worthy. And I can't take notes on the job. So it'll be a weekend project. I want to try and get this done for those that want him implemented and hopefully he can be used as a backdrop for other jobs. Just trying to make it look like a good idea so it'll get noticed.

Any ancient texts detailing WAR Lore would not mention Snowcloak because it didn't exist until after the Calamity...

Primals by their nature are an eminent threat to Eorzea, regardless of their personality. Ramux EX covered this when the story was "Well, Ramuh already said he likes and trusts you, but we have to kill him or else all the aether will disappear".

Not to be rude but by that logic then all the Aether would be gone what with Odin and Bahamut(well mostly Odin being well. Bahamut is just alive) alive and well. I am certain there is a limit that primals reach before they can no longer maintain their physical form and lose said form. If not we could not defeat them at all as they could just swallow gobs of aether and become not only immortal on the aetheric flow but also on the mortal plane. There has to be a counter balance to their forms.

Bahamut is not alive, in the traditional sense. Bahamut is being sustained by artificial prayer technology developed by the Allagans. This is presumably much more efficient than aether so Bahamut wouldn't be draining it at an accelerated rate (though some of the dialogue DOES indicate he is still doing so. There are unusual readings which is what leads to the discovery of the Coils to begin with).

Neither of these are comparable to what you suggest, a Primal that is well and kicking, running around Coerthas constantly and that we can't kill cuz he will teach us new axe moves.

    It's not gonna work.

EDIT: Here's the relevant text from the Ramux EX quest.

    Frixio
Walking one is most welcome in these ones' home. The gentle sighs of winds and trees and brooks told these ones of walking one's peaceful words with Lord Ramuh.
These ones also heard that thunderous one challenged walking one to battle. This one is certain that Lord Ramuh was pleased with walking one's strength.

    Dellexia
And such strength walking one has! Arrow-shooting ones often tell grand tales of walking one, and these ones are glad to call walking one friend!

    Frixio
But this one must warn walking one! Touched ones have summoned Lord Ramuh once more, and this time with an offering of many, many more crystals!
This one does not think thunderous one means to bring judgment to Gridania─after all, Lord Ramuh made a special promise to walking one.
It is the intentions of touched ones that concern this one. Touched ones yet act in fear...and in hate.
Even should Lord Ramuh ignore touched ones' destructive wishes, his presence alone drains the land of aether.
It is not just Gridania, but the entire realm that thunderous one threatens.
Life will seep from the soil; crops will wither and die. Then, though Lord Ramuh will it otherwise, walking ones will go to war over what remains.
This one begs brave and courageous one to fight again!
Touched ones must understand that summoning thunderous one is futile! That thunderous one respects the strength of walking one!
Thank you! This one knew walking one would do the right thing!

And the lore behind King Mog, after being summoned that he wouldn't be his original, good natured self.
