Fang's summon, and in XIII-2 it's both Caius' summon and the final boss (and to be honest probably one of the most awesome final boss fights in the series; that video's literally just the fight so it's basically spoiler free if you want)
Point is, Bahamut being this world threatening power in XIV isn't unusual because he's always been a being of high power - whether in storyline relevance or simply one of the most powerful summoned beasts (and often optional bosses) available. Yes, there've been times where he's been outshined (Knights of the Round, Eden, etc) but those were individual exceptions and he's always still way up there.
Fenrir is minor and inconsistent as a summon. Yeah, I get he had cool things in XI, but that's about it. If you wanted to nitpick you'd be better contrasting Garuda - who at least has the whole "really there aren't consistent wind-elemental summons in the series to give obvious priority to" to begin with.

even putting aside the history of the FF series, let's just compare Fenrir's power with Bahamut's power :
Fenrir
Bahamut
totally the same right ?
Can't you just be happy that a monster (a second rate monster even) got upgraded to a dungeon boss, akin to Diabolos or Siren (lesser primal being) ?
PvP was in devs' minds way before peole complained about it. You just have to look at the balance between classes, way better than in most games which began with PvP.
To a lot of FFXI players, apparently, it did. Hence the uproarIt's the whole "But he's my super nostalgic awsome memory" argument going on where, in reality, he hasn't been such a big presence till FFXI. Hell, even Fat Chocobo is more recognizable. I'm glad he's a dungeon boss cause I find dungeons to be more fun than yet another arena-type fight (if they were to make him a PEX).

Yeah Garuda was in a ton of games but mostly as a regular enemy rather than a summonFang's summon, and in XIII-2 it's both Caius' summon and the final boss (and to be honest probably one of the most awesome final boss fights in the series; that video's literally just the fight so it's basically spoiler free if you want)

Yeah, exactly. It's a much more similar situation to Fenrir's status. Just, again before someone tries to quote me as supporting it: Garuda is still almost the primary wind summon by virtue of wind not having a primary summon the way Ifrit/Ramuh/Titan/Shiva/Levi are the established go-tos of their element.Yeah Garuda was in a ton of games but mostly as a regular enemy rather than a summon

Better delay that major patch that's coming in a matter of weeks.
Someone doesn't like that a monster is just a monster.
Odin's fight was added into the DATs in 2.38
It has the splash for its trial, menu option, 15 minute 8 man fight.
There's zero doubt about it, Odin will be fightable soon outside of FATE. 100% for sure.
The question is will this be some Fanfest only thing or will it be for everyone.
Given the short duration of it, probably a Fanfest thing.Odin's fight was added into the DATs in 2.38

I really hope they'll allow us all to challenge it afterwards however.
