    my complaint about dragoons

Okay time for "blooms complaint of the day" lol

Dragoons are no more than warriors with a spear in the game theres hardly any point in getting dragoon from lancer since all it is, a warrior with a spear without dragon like quiltys.

Either one of this need to be giving to dragoons so dragoons are a little more "dragoony".

    A. Dragons given a dragon egg so they can raise a dragon minion of there choice etc like a fire dragon icedragon, poison dragon etc.

    B. Breath attacks make dragoons go out and kill dragons to learn the dragons breath attacks or kill other things for example ice breath for killing a ice dragon.

The reason why i say this again at this point there is no "Dragoons in the game" just warriors with a spear.

You clearly do not know what a Dragoon in a FF game is.

Jumps are a dragoons signature, always have been, always will be. the pet wryvern as a gameplay element was only in 11. the only other use of a wryvern with dragoon is FFII lore, but that never influenced how a dragoon would play, just a lore thing.

Uh...what? FF Dragoon's hallmark iconic skill is Jump, of which it has in abundance. Not that dragon breath or pet nonsense.

Jumps are something that is iconically associated with the Dragoon Class, and has been associated with the class since the game Final Fantasy III was released in Japan back in 1990 (granted that game was only first released here in the United States on the Nintendo DS in 2006).

Jump was cemented as part of the abilities associated with the Dragoon when Final Fantasy IV was released and it was included in the abilities associated with Kain Highwind. Kain Highwind is also the first person you see wearing the Armor that eventually becomes associated with the Dragoon in the form of the Dragoon Artifact Armor, though a primitive version of that armor is worn by the Dragoons in Final Fantasy III, it isn't until Final Fantasy IV that the armor shows the appearance that is most often associated with the Dragoon.

Jumps also make an appearance in Final Fantasy V in the form of a Dragoon Class, Final Fantasy VII being used by another member of the Highwind family, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy IX in the form of the Dragon Knight, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XI this time in the form of the prototypical Dragoon class, Final Fantasy XIII, and obviously here in Final Fantasy XIV and its sequel Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn in the form of the Lancer class and Dragoon job.

The only version of Dragoon that has ever had a pet was the version in Final Fantasy XI. Over the course of Final Fantasy history the Dragoons primary ability has always been Jumping of one sort or another.

EDIT: And I just realized I am responding to a necroed thread. However since the person I quoted was the OP, and since it was the OP who necroed the thread, I feel at least somewhat justified in my response.

Dragoons thing has and always will be JUMPING!. They get 4 jump skills and a skill that buffs jumping. I am not saying I dont want dragoons to get more stuff. i am just saying Dragoons do feel "dragoony" because they have the skills they should have.

I agree. I started leveling a dragoon recently, and it would be my 5th class. Playing dragoon has helped me learn the art of "weaving" off global cooldowns into your rotation. It's a ton of fun, and I'm level 43 at the moment. I dps as a black mage alongside a novus dragoon, and he really puts me to shame out dpsing me on T6. The job is already pretty complicated with keeping combos correct, positioning correct, and all those buffs up. Its a great change of pace for me and I appreciate the challenge that comes with it.
