Sports to add something new

No one can deny there are layers to an mmo, and there's so much stuff to do, but by the end of the day all falls down to gear. You do pvp for gear, you do dungeons for gear, and so on.

Whatever it is that we have separate from gear grinding is almost useless. The minions sit there and do nothing, and your FC room is just purely decorative.

Can't we have extra activities that reward you greatly and it's not related to gear or decoration? Can't we have a card game already that gives you the chance to collect hundreds of cards and with them do unlimited strategies to beat your opponents, and perhaps have tournaments every month with "Best player of the server?"

This could evolve later to other sports like something similar to blitzball.

You do know the "Golden Saucer" a new area/place is coming soonish hopefully, that will be chalk full of mini games AND supposedly will introduce Chocobo racing as well. So there is always that to look forward to, and might just include a card game with it.

It was Triple Triad (the better card game, in my opinion) that was announced, not Tetra Master.

Q: Is there any additional information you can share about the Gold Saucer?

A: Well, I can tell you that chocobo racing will be implemented at the same time. Triple Triad will be implemented as well, but this isn't something that will just be contained in the Gold Saucer, as it can be played in other places throughout Eorzea. In regards to chocobo racing, we'll most likely be making it possible to train your chocobos at the same time for parameters such as stamina and speed. Also, being able to ride a chocobo and race it with your character in control is a new endeavor for an MMORPG. For Triple Triad, we'd like players to have fun by, for example, obtaining cards from Minfilia or discovering which NPCs in what locations possess cards. Besides chocobo racing and Triple Triad, Gold Saucer will have other mini-games such as a basketball shooting game and there may just be Gold Saucer Active Events that start out of the blue.
