Nooo the pretty crystals D: 'Tis a shame about the whole mess (I personally felt the shots were all fine thematically), but oh well Let's continue:
Ciara - It kinda looks like an epic finishing blow *CIARA SLICE*- You've done everything right here. We can clearly see both you and the boss (and both are facing forward!) and are centred which works well for the overall shot. The skyline also goes well with the weapon effects, colour-wise. Great job!
Jayzan - You've done a great job at making it feel like a boss battle here with the pose and skill effects. It's a great shot of the boss as well, with the branch behind you looking as if it's about to pick you up; it makes it feel as there is more of an interaction between you and the boss. If I were to be pedantic i'd say that it's a bit hard to see you (and that you're facing the other way), but given the theme it is excusable.
Tinsley - I have a bit of a weak spot for flashy effects - they do work pretty well here though. It feels quite 'dirty' in a way (I mean this as a compliment, don't worry) as in it kind of reminds me of early leveling when all the lvl 12s would disorganisedly pile onto one boss - quite nostalgic really. This is definitely quite a risky shot though - Although I think it works well together, there are a lot of things that I think people will find fault with (like the effects obscuring your body, overwhelming visuals - I won't list it all).
--------
Why I didn't vote for the others:
Kurri - There's not really much wrong with the shot in a lot of ways. But when trying to separate good from better I really have to be pedantic. I felt the shot was a bit... off in some way - i think it was a couple of the colour choices. There is also a minimal amount of interaction with the boss which makes it feel less like you're battling him and more like you're just there. If I sound over-critical, it's because I am. It is really quite a nice shot.
Maxwell - I felt as if it was a bit bland - there's not a lot of colour or flashy effects here. Also, as elusive as Naul is, it is definitely not epic or boss-like and overall is a bit of an underwhelming choice compared to many other bosses you could have chosen. You're doing a nice pose though, I'll give you that - It would have looked nice on a larger boss that made it feel as if you were dodging one of its attacks.
Yunie - The shot itself isn't that bad. however the theme does require a 'battle shot' with a boss - you're not really fighting it here. It feels very 'safe' (i.e. a little uninteresting) as well. This would have been a good chance to be adventurous and stray from the whole "cute, defenseless, adorable little lala" façade you've stuck with for the competition. Get dirty! Shank a deer or something
Who needs closing remarks? *Rodin out*

you get me! this is the feel i was going for.. when you are still a lowbie lvling and these fate "bosses" felt bigger than they were. I actually played my lvl 16 monk to get this shot. Almost made me miss leveling up on fates .. almost![]()

Yaaay awesome round!! *u*still sad i didn't see the crystal shots tho orz
Top 3:
Ciara - Best action-shot this round! Great timing, you coordinated with Gorgi and got it clearly in the shot, and your flashy, clean effect let's you (literally) shine as the model (and also interestingly matches that beam of light coming from the Castrum!).
Jayzan - Wow, you captured the treant in the photo expertly! Very clean shot, love the imagery of axe vs. tree (which is also humorously exaggerated)...overall wonderfully composed.
Kurri - This is a very nicely timed and composed shot...Yay! Love the unique mood you have going, the dramatic focus on you makes you look like Ramuh's acolyte or even his summoner. Would've been improved if Ramuh himself was just a little clearer, but aside from that, this gets my vote!
Critiques for the rest:
Maxwell - Neat pose you captured and I like the setting, but it's not as interactive with the monster as it should be, and also not as flashy/impressive as other entries for an action shot.
Tinsley - I do really like this as a screenshot in itself, my favorite part being the dynamic capture of the chocobo behind you. I read what you were going for with your shot and I really appreciate that, but your subjects are still just too obscure.
Yunie - I like the clarity and the way you captured yourself and your boss monster, but I feel as though you're not really interacting enough. Coordinating yourself better to set a clearer mood or match with Bahamut might've helped you here, because the contrast in detail and other theme-setting factors are inhibiting your entry.

bump!Last day for voting!

Ah, but will facing north-by-northeast at 2:45 a.m. while the moon is a waning crescent result in a 27% increase in your chances to synthesize HQ mythril ingots!? That is real the question! ~Fernehalwes~
