    Bumping again for another question.

    Will there be a time when we don't lose all items in a synthesis?


    Next to wanting to quit a synthesis, this is the next frustrating thing about crafting. Can the harder-to-obtain items please have less of a chance of being destroyed in a synthesis?

    Cloth makes sense where it's ruined before the gear is completed, but when you dye it... if you make a mistake you could bleach it.

    Metal is a we bit different. If you shatter it, can't it be reforged so it makes sense to keep the materials?

    The crystals used in the synthesis reverse their energy output upon the failure of a synth. This reversal draws back the energy that has saturated the synthesis materials. As the materials have bonded with with the crystal's energy, they are converted to energy and drawn into the crystal as well.

    The mass influx of energy causes the crystals to become overloaded and they shatter.


    (ok, I made that up, but it works )

    I remember one of the dev posts back when they were talking about the crafting reforms mentioning that eventually if a recipe is close to or below your level you wouldn't be able to fail (and therefore not lose materials) but I think this was meant for the insta-craft option they were going to add sometime down the line. If you choose the play the minigame to try to HQ you of course risk losing the materials.

    Yes please! Table flip emote for crafters is a must, and they should allow a generic code input, something like /@$#@$^%!!!

    Why does such a banal thread as this get a response from a forum moderator where as my two serious threads making suggestions to Food/Medicine and Grand Companies go completely unanswered?

    I get the feeling forum mods only read threads that have a minimum of views and or replies, regardless of weher the suggestion could seriously benefit the game or not.

    You made two suggestions that advocate changes to systems that others are more-or-less okay with, and not a whole lot of people have agreed. In a way, getting a lot of support from other people might be a way to get a dev response; they are here to please the majority, not each individual player. In any case, the dev post in here is from six months ago. Somehow I doubt it stole attention from your threads.

    And I'm not even sure you know what this thread is about. Wanting a button to quit a craft in progress is something most people can agree on, unlike your threads which, while definitely original, don't exactly represent needs that everyone has. Just things that you would put into XIV if you were on the dev team. /shrug
