    You are right that i did not realize the dev post is from six months ago, on the other hand I fully realize what the content of the thread is referencing. The table flipping animation, albeit cute as it may seem, is just a joke.

    Now, how is an "I quit craft button" in any way needed by everyone in the community? To save you the pain of attempting the last few synthesis actions on a synth that is destined to botch?

    It only takes a few seconds to finish a botch, for the love of the twelve... Where as you are talking about a game change that will shave off a few measly seconds I am talking about (in the GC post) a game change that would save you HOURS and HOURS of hard work farming seals... as for your smug comment about my suggestions being 'things i could put into XIV if i were on the dev team' how is this thread ANY different?

    I didn't ask for an animation, I asked for an option to quit a synthesis that was going to fail.

    If you spam standard synthesis, yeah it would only last a few seconds. When you do it at a slower pace, such as waiting till the time bar is over the 'Y" "Standard Synthesis" this makes the time longer.

    If in the first three attempts you lose 15-20 durability leaving you with 55 to 40 durability left with only 5 to 10 progress, why bother to finish it. I'd like the option to Quit.

    There have been a ton of examples. There are lots of times you know you're going to fail a synth before it happens. For example, when you have 40 durability and 15% progress, or 30 durability and 50% progress; if you're crafting for exp, keep going. But if you're going to lose the items anyway, why not stop? The table flipping animation was, indeed, a joke. The thread and dev response aren't about flipping tables. They're about being able to stop a craft mid-session. Maybe a big open world HNM decided to spawn, and you have to teleport to Camp Lalafell's Bane ASAP to help kite, but you just started a craft.

    The next difference is that this is a purely optional increase in functionality; if you didn't want to use it, there is absolutely no reason you would have to. If you think you have the best of luck and want to try to make that 30 durability go a long way with well-timed abilities, kudos. Your requests change things for everyone, and not necessarily in a way that everyone finds agreeable. My comment that it's something that you could accomplish if you were on the dev team, means what it means. The decision to have GC gear be a grind is a design choice, not an option that doesn't exist. The same for food; everyone has an opinion about whether or not it's functional, but it's ultimately up to the devs, and we learn to use them the way they want us to. In addition, a lot of us do think that food should last long periods, a minor effect, and be reusable instantly. Medicines should be short, potent, and have a cooldown. However, I don't want to derail this thread. Your opinion differs, but what do you want the devs to do? Make a "New Server 11 (This server's food effects will be more potent and have a long cooldown; medicines will be spammable.)"? Your post is just fine because you're attempting to gauge the community's opinion, but... I'd rather SE get a head start on my beautiful furniture selection for 2.0 than cater/respond to everyones' opinion of how things could work.

    I think you got my Food/Medicine post a little wrong, but that's not important. I understand the reason being for the reuse delays on meds and foodstuffs.

    About the GC suggestion, I don't see how that would affect anyone more than the crafting option suggested here. You have the choice to use it or not. That's it. Everyone is affected equally in both cases.

    Maybe one day we will have a world HNM spawn that will favor your above mentioned example, but as it stands it's not really the case (except dodore i guess?); In any case a Quit option as usefull as it may be just seems like you're too lazy to finish the synth and see yourself botch. Everyone seems in such a hurry these days.

    /meh, I am not against it -actually i am for it, it's just that I would like to see other's players suggestions being considered as much. I don't see why someone should have XX amount of "agrees" or "replies" in order to be acknowledged by a forum moderator. There are players on these forums that post 100x as much as forum mods.
