+1
For those of you complaining about this button.... why???
It's just additional feature for those of us that want to quit in middle of crafting for different reasons.
Does it explode your brain by seeing a button on screen "cancel crafting"? Is it going to bother you guys so much that you guys feel like jumping out the window and crashing your keyboards? maybe need a real life "I quit" button??? j/k
Obviously the devs added this already on the alpha version of FFXIV ARR and by them adding this there must of been someone in the dev team that also felt the need for this extra feature to cancel crafting mid-way. If you're the type of person that would never ever going to use it... then don't... that's all there is to it... end of story.
Now back to staring at my next subligar design.

I don't think I've ever got -14, apart from "instability burst", I've only ever seen -7 to -11 and is usually -8 or -9.
Upgrade ALL your gear ASAP, you see a massive increase in success and it will make the game much quicker through less breakage and ability to successfully craft items 10 levels above. IMO I make sure I have every gear slot filled with approproately leveled gear, attaching stat boosting materia to it will probably make it the easiest for you.
Also, make doubly sure that your Actions/Traits are set correctly, for every DoH/L class (same time when upgrading gear), because these abilities DO NOT set themselves. So you want to replace those abilities that do not offer much such as the sketchy "25% less durability" for something consistent such as "Advances progress" which is always +20 progress. You want to apply basically the same thing to all DoH jobs save for any "Elemental" actions eg:
Mine is currently as follows:
* Start with Maker's Muse (L10-ensures successful attempt x3), I use only x1 where my progress increases to +15~+20 (2x if the first was only +14)
* Careful synthing watching for instability, you should have the required "Brand of..." set for whatever element shards being used, if there is more than one element shard being used, use whatever Brand uses most shards or occurs the most.
* Keep careful synthing until your progress is 60 and beyond, if not enough durability, normal/rapid synth can sometimes work.
* Grand Design/Unerring Hand/Tricks Of The Trade x2 (L36-advances progress +20) to give you +40 progress for free, so you only really need to get from 0-60
Doing this and sticking to recipes 10+,9+,8+ levels above you will get you up to 5k exp per synth.
BTW this is just for getting best exp/crafting items/, not really for low level players or wanting HQ or w/e.![]()

I guess you didn't craft when crafting sucked bad. When this thread was created, all these skills were different, and durability loss was much greater, while quality and progress gain were much lower, you could HQ something with 3 quality with complete randomness, and your lvl vs recipe level was all that mattered towards success rate, not gear stats.I don't think I've ever got -14, apart from "instability burst", I've only ever seen -7 to -11 and is usually -8 or -9.

the I Quit button isn't really need as much now, but they would still be nice to have.
Oh, and elemental destabilities would reduce your quality by half as well. it really sucked.

Man, after thinking about it, I really wanna make it so that your character rages when you quit.
Armorer throwing hammer to the ground and failing on the ground (Unless you expect characters to be physically able to flip a anvil).
Alchemist kicking over their alchemic station.
Of course, I'd see a future where I'll mess up synthesis on purpose when I start getting "Crafter's madness"
