What square has failed to account for is that being able to buy a prepaid time card is not a subsitute for crysta, for which not only allows you to exchange for game time, but also the activation of additional retainers.

By recurring debit card subscription like everyone else? How am I supposed to pay the subscription fee?
I only have a debit card, not seeing the issue

That's great for you... you have one that works. Not all cards work for all systems. We ran into a similar thing years ago with XI, where if your card did not support J-Secure, Secure Visa, or Secure Code (MC version)... you couldn't use them. Then there were the banks that were rejecting the international transactions (or charging fees for various reasons--international transaction, conversion fee, wire transfer fee, etc.).
The point is that their implementations of the CC option are not as globally accepting as an option like the UP/Paypal was.
Camate posted in one of the other threads that they indeed are working on an option to bring back PayPal, he just didn't have any specific details that could be divulged at this time.

I'm curious as to why SE doesn't want to make payments more convenient for a wider range of subscribers, don't they like money? lol
as for alternative payment methods, how about virtual card numbers? most banks I know (in relation to my RL job) offer it to their customers. basically, they'll generate a secure card # for you which you can use online. getting one might take a while though. but in my experience, you can get one in an instant, especially if you have online access to your bank statement. I do hope this issue gets resolved soon.

Nice selective reading skills... Completely ignoring the basic fact that there are plenty of people out there that either flat out can't get a card, or the card(s) they do have access to simply will not work with SE's setup..
And I have not only heard of Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express I have used all of them for years. And despite the fact I can actually buy a new car without financing, even I have on occasion run into problems getting transactions to go through with SE from time to time. There have been real issues with their processing causing problems for a long time... In some cases it even locked out regions of people.

That's the whole point. I am simply not legally allowed to have a credit card. End of the story. My debit card does not allow international transactions, that's exactly why I use paypal. It really is the ONLY way for me to make an international transaction. The one and only.
If I have to buy a prepaid card I'd pay for it with paypal too.
The joke is that a prepaid card raises the subscription from about 10 euros a month to about 15, and I'm not doing that.
I just want to be able to pay for my subscription with normal payment methods. Paypal is one of the most widely accepted payment forms on the internet and it has always worked up until now. Until they bring it back, square has lost me as a customer. There's just no other way for me to pay, if I had another option (besides a prepaid card) I'd use it, but there isn't.
Amazon is one of the if not the largest online retailer and they don't accept paypal just putting that out there.I just want to be able to pay for my subscription with normal payment methods. Wow, it's almost as if Americans don't understand that countries outside of America operate with a different set of rules, and sites like Amazon have uk specific payment options such as allowing their uk based debit cards whereas the american Amazon only accepts credit cards.
Golly Gee.
It's as if America isn't the only country in the world or something!!
I'm in Canada, and I'm currently having a similar issue. I was using the steam wallet to pay for my subscription, since steam wallet allows for paypal, but unfortunately with the new CDN money issue I can't use my steam wallet right now. I don't have a credit card either, due to student loans murdering my credit rating, and as a pro-tip to Americans who are unaware: outside of America you need a decent credit rating in order to get a credit card, which is different from a debit card (the card we use connected to our bank account).
At the moment, I'm at a loss as to how to renew my subscription. Thankfully, I have other options because I'm in North America (I can go out and buy a prepaid visa and use that, it's just a pain in the butt because it means having to actually go out and do that ahaha), but I can't imagine those in Europe having a very good time of it right now.
SE really needs to add more options for non NA users.
Hell I should try getting a prepaid mastercard.
SE is just declining my payments but blaming it on the bank (who upon calling is telling me that there's nothing wrong on their end and is authorizing the payments).
SE isn't using some home built payment processor, they're using some third party one. Amazon uses their own home built payment processor.
Their support is cryptic at best and requires several responses from different people to piece together the entire picture about the state of their payment processing. Most of the responses I get from support completely ignore portions of my messages and give me the same useless copy/paste answers.
I'm amazed at how little they care about this.
