I'm pretty sure ranged attacker's has always been just as strong as close ranged melee in other Ff titles if anything they had an advantage which was dealing dmg from a far and taken reduced dmg by being in the back row. Now its dealing dmg from a far or taken none or a lot of dmg.

I don't think they need to change the classes per say just make boss mobs punish ranged attackers from time to time with move that only can hit people who are far this would involve ranged melee and caster's more in the battles.
