As disappointed as I am that they didn't do more with fenrir, I would personally be more annoyed if alexander suddenly became a trivial dungeon boss. Still hoping he's the next big elder primal for 3.0

I'd almost be willing to bet that Alexander will BE the dungeon rather than be IN the dungeon.
-Ishgard is a holy castle already. Maybe 3.0 will have it transform into Alexander like in FFIX.
-FFXI had 2 versions. the mini Alexander that was a summon and the ruins in the water that were the real Alexander (size of a giant castle).
-As Alexander is a giant mechanical castle in most iterations it could be in Garlean territory, perhaps the seat of the throne? Not sure if they've given name to their base of operations on their own soil.
As if any of the current Primals in XIV aren't already rather bland and boring. Aren't we all accustomed to this yet? Do them once > forget about them. The gear you miss is not going to significantly handicap you in battles.

Couldn't agree more, personally I think alex will be used to take down bahamut for good, thus opening him as next raid tier, "the ruined halls of alexander"I'd almost be willing to bet that Alexander will BE the dungeon rather than be IN the dungeon.

i only did count the time where they are used as summons, not as name dropping, boss or even just appearing in a cut scene
Garuda has gain a massive boost in popularity. I wouldn't be surprised if we she is a common summon in future FF games. I really never hear of Fenrir.
I'm as casual as it gets when it comes to FF
The summons I've heard before playing FF14 (ff9 was my 1st game):
Ramuh
Ifrit
Bahumut
Titan
Alexander
Shiva
Leviathan
FF9 was one of the few games Fenrir was actually a summon in. She was one of Eiko's summons.Garuda has gain a massive boost in popularity. I wouldn't be surprised if we she is a common summon in future FF games. I really never hear of Fenrir.

I remember a lore dev making a post about a flying Castle in eorzea. Could that not be Alexander? can't seem to find the post now but if someone else does please postI'd almost be willing to bet that Alexander will BE the dungeon rather than be IN the dungeon.

Pro tip: There were Final Fantasies that came out before FFXI did. What's your point? I was referring to the actual summons themselves, not their appearances. XIV uses the exact same set of six elemantal avatars from XI for it's elemental primals. Given how much of XIV's content is lifted directly from XI this is no real surprise, which is precisely why a lot of people are disappointed Diabolos and Fenrir didn't get the same treatment...
FFVIII: Shiva
FFVII: Shiva
FFVII: Odin
FFIV: Odin
The actual point is, these are gods and goddesses from folk lore around the world and have been built on those principals since their first introduction into the Final Fantasy franchise. They have been present in different capacities throughout the franchise's history. Yes you can point to a specific FF and say "That's how they did it in this game, why are you different now, you disappoint me SE." but you are missing the whole concept of the franchise. Each game was its own separate entity, different battle system, different level up system, different world, different players. While they keep some elements, such as Cid, Summons, Crystals, they are each essentially their own game. It hasnt been until the past 10 years or so where they started to even do a direct sequel for any particular numbers game in the series.
So please, stop the silly arguing over a "summon" that was only in maybe 3 of the numbered FF's when they have a whole slew of others to choose from. Besides, Fenrir was a pretty useless summon in all of the ones I recall... He has more clout as a dungeon boss and will probably get more exposure because of it. How often do you see ifrit or titan summoned? rarely.
Just my 2gil.
