Cato didn't even get the honor of being a final boss, and Atomos got treated even worse, having become a trash fight.

Carbuncle is still your "starter familiar" or "something early summoners can easily handle."

Even then, this has exceptions. Carbuncle was a mid level summon in FF5, being an optional boss fight at the end of chapter 2, along with Greg.

I find it shocking people are making a bigger deal of this than about Siren or Diablo being relegated to loldungeons. Imo much cooler summon magics.

and probably crappy. PS, Siren's was very underwhelming. Put your left leg in and out, and only copied mechanics from Chimera in that one place I can't remember lol.
Should start making Summon's way more fun and creative than this but it's a different game and I don't even really care for the lore so eh...

@Mugiwara(srry mobile) It's not that I don't respect their memories or that I wouldn't like more depth of story/character development. But there are differences in mmos of yester year and today. Sure Fenrir could have been a primal but why? What purpose would he have served? What element would he represent? Who would his worshippers be? Etc. None these things have been addressed outside of the typical FFXI statements of his greatness. That doesn't provide ideas it merely leads to what you former and/or still XI players call XI haters ragging on you. You want something implemented from XI and that's fine but it has to fit within this game's Mode of Service. XIV is not "let's all camp here for three days and kill this" kinda game. Call it instant gratification all you like but that is the world we live in. People have things to do. So grease the gears and find a way to make it work for both and make the suggestion.

Fenrir could have easily represented (though may still, we don't know the storyline yet) Menphina's Hound. Too early for speculation but there's nothing stopping Fenrir and Diabolos from playing bigger roles later, Diabolos has knowledge of the fall of Amdapor City after all. Siren as someone stated earlier there are "multiple Siren," this is actually a slippery slope and this is based off sailors...in 1.0 there were "Sirens" but they were 3 girls singing. Any music heard by sailors would be considered sung by a Siren. The simple answer is there may or may not be more Siren(s) there's just simply not enough Lore established yet...would really like more Lore for these dungeons, its sad but we just grind them for a few weeks then forget about them.

The Temple of Quarn is actually older than the Belah'dians that built ontop of these ruins, we know that people of Nym were turned into Tonberries but what else about this civilization, we know the White Mages of Amdapor became corrupt and ended up summoning Diabolos which corrupted the city, but were they the ones who caused the Sixth Umbral era?

Fenrir being in a dungeon doesn't have to be the end all be all. Lore and story goes on and questions should be asked about these stories. The truly sad thing will be if SE just ignores these dungeons and Lore.

I don't get the why anyone would complain Fenrir was in previous FF games and this is fan service to add him in as a boss. SMNs can't be getting every avatar that has ever been a smn in a previous final fantasy game because that would unbalence the game if they had all these pets. Yoshi P already said they will get some more egis when the expansion is out and level cap is raised.

They angered the Elementals and the Elementals brought the big flood. It was explained in the 1.x WHM quests.

I wish SE didn't change the quest texts in the WHM quests in ARR. Traveling with an Elemental during the quests, without knowing that you get tested by the Elemental because the anger of all Elementals was rising again.

Yes, they were only 3 normal girls who have "borrowed" something from Mimidoa.
