So with great sadness I got on to an F/C member telling me Fenrir is going to be in the game but... In the new dungeon? I didn't believe him, I went and looked it up and sure enough. I know some people won't really care and that is fine however, with the fan art they teased us with since 2.0 and the fact that in XI with Fenrir's full power he could stand against Bahamut, I feel like he had such a bigger Role in this game. (Yes I know, Lore doesn't go over games but come on!) Perhaps if dungeons were actually heard in XIV it wouldn't be such a bad thing but the only hard thing in XIV is coils and we all know it! So they ruined possibly great content with Siren, Diablos and now Fenrir! What summon do you think is going to get stuck in the "dungeon" next patch and or expansion? I think it will be Alexander and or Phoenix personally. What do you guys think?

Fenrir is an ELDER PRIMAL with the power to go against Bahamut! Why are they throwing him in some random, mostly likely easy instance?

Diabolos was a summon in more games, he got the same treatment. Just because he was more useful in XI doesn't make him worth anything more.


Also, different games, different lore. If you have a link showing XIVs Fenrir is even a primal, please provide it as I've seen jack on the subject.

This. I don't remember off the top of my head that he was ever confirmed as an elder primal. That was XI lore not XIV.

No you come on. This is XIV not XI. It's different. Every single monster that was important in past games will not get Trial treatment. Some will have to be in dungeons. I think this goes in the "Deal with it" category.

aslo Fenrir has only like 3 appearances in FF games with the most notable one in FFXI other than that its not as a "big" summon as Shiva, Odin etc

you cant rly expect em to make all of the summons primals..then we would have nothing but primal fights

Siren primarily a water summon with wind as a secondary one, if at all....and u are also forgetting that Garuda was a 1.0 primal, Yoshi couldnt chance it even if he wanted to

Wrong. Siren was non-elemental, status affliction silence. She didn't actually deal water damage, that was Leviathan.

Uh, wrong. Shiva, Ifrit, Ramuh, Leviathan, Titan and Garuda were celestials, from other worlds.

Fenrir, Diabolos and Carbuncle were Terrestrials, from Vana'diel, which made them more powerful than Celestials - though it should be noted in Carbuncle's case that his power was dwindling because of the effort required to keep Vana'diel safe. He was barely terrestrial level. Diabolos' power dwindled after the Shadow Lord became the Dynamis Lord also.

Odin, Bahamut and Alexander were actually gods.

Generally, Fenrir is way, way, way, way, way more powerful than Shiva. Just summoning him made Karaha-Baruha become a thing (which was no longer part of Vana'diel) and Sarutabaruta become a desert from the energy the summoning drew from the land, and later in wotg, two versions of Karaha-Baruha summoning Fenrir together resulted in the both of them dying.

u didnt notice i put big in quotes did ya...i meant big in popularity not strength..aslo what happened in FFXI, or any other FF means jack shit in FFXIV, just beacuse ffxiv primals are BASED on ffxi avatars doesnt mean they are gonna be the exact same thing

Garuda is not well known either and she ended up as the wind eikon.

I feel siren got ripped off she should have been the wind eikon especially because she's the most common wind eikon

In the only games siren has dealt damage in when summoned, it's been non-elemental or water. She's also been undead half the time.
