Um.... really?
Yoshi's original statement was "While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable".
I'd call that straight up BS... aka a lie.
It is actually far more affordable. Here's a pricing chart with your server used as an example (Gilgamesh):
We didn't even get to see any devaluation at all because everything was bought up on most if not all servers within the very first day of implementation. Which in lies the true problem, A lack of wards & plots. Once land comes available and devalues properly without incident, even a small plot of land will be affordable to the most casual player. To go further, under full devaluation, a large plot of land in the 1st Class area would be 18.8 million gil cheaper for a personal house than the same plot for a FC house.Code:5th Class => 1st Class Plots Free Company Housing Before Devaluation: Small 8,000,000 8,500,000 9,000,000 9,800,000 10,000,000 Medium 30,000,000 31,875,000 33,750,000 35,625,000 37,500,000 Large 100,000,000 106,250,000 112,500,000 118,750,000 125,000,000 Personal Houses Before Devaluation: Small 4,000,000 4,250,000 4,500,000 4,750,000 5,000,000 Medium 30,000,000 31,875,000 33,750,000 35,625,000 37,500,000 Large 70,000,000 74,375,000 78,750,000 83,125,000 87,500,000 Personal Houses After Maximum Devaluation (After 30 Days): Small 2,000,000 2,125,000 2,250,000 2,375,000 2,500,000 Medium 15,000,000 15,937,000 16,875,000 17,812,500 18,750,000 Large 35,000,000 37,187,500 39,375,000 41,562,000 43,750,000
I'm sorry you feel poor, but not everyone has your individual problem. The prices are indeed completely separate from free company housing and far more affordable.

I believe the whole housing argument has derailed the original topic of this thread. it is beating the most dead horse that ever died, became undead, was vanquished, was repossessed, was vanquished again, and then got paved into a road and walked across for ages, feet beating it till it was deader than dead ever was.
Back on the topic of 2.4, I really hope they come out with a healer class. we only have one, and it makes me sad.
> It's exactly the same pricing as FC housing. All it's done is allow non-FC people to buy houses for the same prices as FC. If they wanted to refer to it as "It'll be cheaper than it is now", then I have no comment on that since I haven't played since release, but it's still pretty damn despicable since "cheaper than FC housing" is easily interpreted as just that, cheaper than FC housing, and especially when they keep it under wraps up to the day of release. What did they lie about, exactly? I didn't really follow housing myself but from what I understand、
”It'll be cheaper than FC housing” - true, cheaper than launch FC housing compared to the amount of gil people had
”850k won't be enough” - true, wasn't even close to enough
”more affordable than FC housing” - true, more people have gil now over the 10s of millions
> Agreed.
>Same problem as statement 1. I wouldn't consider it "more affordable" than FC housing when it...costs the same as FC housing...
As far as 2.4 is concerned, I'm expecting a lot of halfassed additions or content that doesn't have a whole lot of longevity outside of shoving players in via roulette, if only because of previous updates (hunts, expert dungeons, etc).
-New dungeons award Ilvl 90, despite the possible new tomes giving ilvl 100 or higher (assuming you even get drops, current dungeons are so saturated with materials)
-EX primal awards ilvl 105 gear, leaving really no incentive to clear it other than for the sake of it or recreation.
-SCoB awards echo, but will still gate it to PF and statics due to the heavy emphasis on mechanics.

Agreed ! -I believe the whole housing argument has derailed the original topic of this thread. it is beating the most dead horse that ever died, became undead, was vanquished, was repossessed, was vanquished again, and then got paved into a road and walked across for ages, feet beating it till it was deader than dead ever was.

Yeh a new healer class/job would be really nice! - Though I have a feeling if gunner is the next healing class, then it'll be a dps until level 30 until it branches out into the chemist job (speculation entirely of course)
The problem was that by the time personal housing was released those were reasonable prices for personal housing. Making 4 mil isn't unreasonable to make within a month at all. They should have jacked up guild housing to compensate though. I don't for a second thing mixing the zones was a bad idea though. Separating them has more Cons than keeping them together.
That's because, back in Version 1, BLM didn't offer enough extra DPS to offset the advantages of Raise. And the ability to stack materia with no stat caps meant a decent triple meld was better than Darklight which was the best non-crafted gear at the time.
