OMG yes please! I accidentally hit sort the other day when I was full of trash items and it took me 20 minutes to put my inventory back in order.

Or even if you could select an option to only sort the inventory tab you're on instead of sorting the entire inventory. This would be far less disruptive.

Maybe instead of doing undo sort they add more ways to customize the auto-sort so more people would use it and your scenario doesn't happen anymore.
The auto sort is awesome for the armory. Changing classes will jumble the armory inventory and there's little you can do about it, so the auto sort is great. It also works well because the various slots are already exist on their own tabs, so when you hit sort you're only sorting rings, or boots, or weapons or what have you.

I find it AWFUL for the main inventory. I use the various tabs to partition stuff I have in my inventory into different categories. Crafting materials I commonly use are in Tab 3. Food, potions and permanent items I keep around are on Tab 4. Tab 2 is more like temporary storage. Crafting mats I might use in the semi-near future, beastman fate items I might be using soon, commonly used GC turn ins for FSH & BTN at my level. That sort of thing. And it's all organized on the right & bottom, so that they are separated from any overflow from Tab 1. Tab 1 is open so that all new items end up there by default. This makes it really easy to identify which items are new so I know what to sell, store on my retainer, turn in via quest, desynth or whatever. As stated, the overflow ends up on the left side of Tab 2, so I can still easily pick out new items.

With everything sorted, it fills everything from the left side. Temporary items get mixed in with stuff I want to keep in my inventory longer and it becomes more of a hassle to dig through, even if it is technically "in order". The lack of spaces between categories inhibits my ability to quickly parse through what I've got.
