Request: "Undo Sort" Option or Confirmation Window

    Imagine this:

You're a player that likes to keep their inventory neat, tidy. On the first tab you keep your foods, potions, small but frequently used items. On another tab you keep your commonly used items like dark and carbonized matter. You also keep on this tab your synthesis items like alumen, or whatnot. And yet on another tab you keep random misc stuff. Ventures, tokens you've been building up to get that weathered weapon from Rowena, maybe some FATE drops like Atma pieces, items used in Beastman dailies. Overall you keep your tabs pretty tidy and where they belong.

You do this with your retainers too, one houses all your crafting materials and each tab has a different set of materials. It works.

    Now picture this:

You finish several dungeon runs (Brayflox, Tam-Tara Deepcroft, etc.) for the evening and now your inventory is cluttered with items you just don't need. Maybe they aren't really worth lugging to a merchant to sell. So you start going through picking out what you want to keep and what is worth throwing away. That's when it happens, you scroll down to "Discard" and accidentally hit "Sort". Immediately your inventory is sorted every which way and now you have to spend time fixing everything all over again.

Imagine doing this on a full retainer too and messing the whole thing up. Not an enjoyable moment now is it? I've had this happen to me many times and I'm sure I am not alone in this. How often have you meant to throw something away, or use an item and accidentally hit "Sort" from the list instead? How often have you then had to reorganize your entire inventory?

Now, don't get me wrong as if I'm complaining about there being a sort option. I'm quite glad it exists and have put up with the annoyances of a mis-click just for that reason. However I'd like to request an "Undo Sort" option to be added. For example:

Let's say you sort your inventory but didn't mean to. As long as you don't move/use anything from your inventory you can immediately hit the "Undo Sort" option and it reverts your inventory to the way it was before you hit "Sort". Alternatively even a confirmation pop-up (Which can be disabled under the Configuration menu.) can be added to the option so you can cancel it if you accidentally hit "Sort".

TL;DR - Sorting by accident is a pain, please add in an optional "Undo Sort" or confirmation window that players who don't want it can toggle off.

    Thank you!

I keep my inventory nice and tidy with the sort button. Don't get why people refuse such a nice and simple tool and do things the hard way. There is even settings for how your items are sorted to help people get their inventories just the way they like. Maybe instead of doing undo sort they add more ways to customize the auto-sort so more people would use it and your scenario doesn't happen anymore.

If they had a sort feature that suited my enigmatic OCD everything-must-go-like-this order, I would gladly use it. but there isn't.
I know exactly what the OP is talking about and the only thing I can suggest, in the mean time, is to put items into your inventory before getting rid of them. Or drag and drop. Because believe me.. I know.

There already is a customizable auto-sort (starting a new tab with different item types, sorting based on level, ilvl, etc,). I can understand why this is a problem for you and a small number of other people perhaps, but personally I hit the sort button about 2 dozen times a day and don't want to be bothered with an 'are you sure?' dialogue, though I suppose having an on/off toggle for that would work pretty well for both of us.

OMG yes please! I accidentally hit sort the other day when I was full of trash items and it took me 20 minutes to put my inventory back in order.

Or even if you could select an option to only sort the inventory tab you're on instead of sorting the entire inventory. This would be far less disruptive.

The auto sort is awesome for the armory. Changing classes will jumble the armory inventory and there's little you can do about it, so the auto sort is great. It also works well because the various slots are already exist on their own tabs, so when you hit sort you're only sorting rings, or boots, or weapons or what have you.

I find it AWFUL for the main inventory. I use the various tabs to partition stuff I have in my inventory into different categories. Crafting materials I commonly use are in Tab 3. Food, potions and permanent items I keep around are on Tab 4. Tab 2 is more like temporary storage. Crafting mats I might use in the semi-near future, beastman fate items I might be using soon, commonly used GC turn ins for FSH & BTN at my level. That sort of thing. And it's all organized on the right & bottom, so that they are separated from any overflow from Tab 1. Tab 1 is open so that all new items end up there by default. This makes it really easy to identify which items are new so I know what to sell, store on my retainer, turn in via quest, desynth or whatever. As stated, the overflow ends up on the left side of Tab 2, so I can still easily pick out new items.

With everything sorted, it fills everything from the left side. Temporary items get mixed in with stuff I want to keep in my inventory longer and it becomes more of a hassle to dig through, even if it is technically "in order". The lack of spaces between categories inhibits my ability to quickly parse through what I've got.
