I got the salter on my third window yup, he bites...bat-o-nine tails on the other hand... I was fishing next to a lala...I got the animation twice...escaped twice...then the lala gets the animation...and gets him, he had far far worse gear than I... I cried... my 6th window on this guy...never saw him bite before...and on this one I got 2 bites and seeing the fish get away twice depressed me a lot xD.
I honestly think people going serious with big fishing on this game are brutally masochist (I know I am), it really tests your patience to insane levels.

I'm at 100/112 right now, but spearnose, carp diem, sweetnewt and twitchbeard are not accessible (and I guess they are relatively easy compared to what I've been fishing until now), hopefully SE makes the silly snow stop soon...I'm hitting my head on a brick wall trying to get pirate's bane, and already got 99 silver sharks which I turned into shark oils (always look at the bright side lo)

Finally got Pirate's Bane...after my second bite, damn...that thing is...I must've spent 30 fishers intuition without a single hq goby, very depressing fish.

Only missing Shonisaurus, Bat-o-Nine Tails, The Old Man in the Sea, Starbright, Wootz Knifefish Zenith, Bloodred Bonytongue, Anomalocaris and the 4 that are not accessible.

Finally had a heliocorpion window late last night, got there early to get a mooch ready, didnt get a mooch till 4 hours into the window and that was my only mooch. 29NQ Storm Riders, 1 HQ. Uuugghh.

Helicorpion is such a pain, that weather is so rare.

Same for me with most of these fish with short windows or rare weather locks - I can never get the HQ mooched fish - or if I do in so few amounts. You end up with 1-2 total attempts at catching it. Such troll.

Edit: 108...only missing bonytongue, the stupid knifefish zenith (have yet to see a single bite from this guy, does he even exist???), shonisaurus and twitchbeard (it seems HQ fullmoon sardines do not exist).

I stumbled upon Blood-Red Bonytongue's window for the second time right after lunch, went there with 9 minutes left, saw three other fishers, sat down and 4th cast is silverfish HQ, bam, I got the big fish. I felt embarrassed and left asap! Now I'm missing Cornelia, Imperial Goldfish (these two no like me!), Mahar and Shonisaurus.

I'm only missing Shonisaurus, Bonytongue and Wootz Knifefish Zenith...seriously what's wrong with the last? Nobody talks about this fish ever...nobody seems to have problems with this fish...yet all I see is a horrendous 2 hour fog window with a 2% mooch? I've literally been 20 windows in northern thanalan and haven't seen this guy bite once...I have the impression I'm gonna get bonytongue and shoni before him (at least bonytongue bited once...back when I had the supra rod).

Big tug. As far as I've paid attention, only The Salter is a small/medium tug fish.
