    Maybe there's also a time condition for Shoni? I always thought that the game would allow you to mooch even if the conditions for the moochable fish are not met and the failure would happen only at bite time.

    Check ff14angler, their app has registered a successful Shoni catch after the Mahar mooch. Also, looking at Mahar's records list it seems like there were multiple HQ catches as the size differences between the first and the fifth places are insignificant:

    1 195.7 unsung angler
    2 194.6 発酵なまもの
    3 194.0 unsung angler
    4 193.7 テティス@Ramuh
    5 192.6 はまち

    how does ff14 angler work? I always expected a sinlge guy updating times etc whenever he figured something out, or based on facts which other ppl told him

    A lot of the information is cloud sourced (such as the weather). But Shoni could also be time based. The guy in the pic caught his at 13:25 apparently so I'm not sure if it's possible but maybe it's only moochable during a certain window? Or maybe the other person who caught it did so just as blizzard weather ended and it's not moochable outside blizzard weather? Either way it's sounding more difficult and this weather is so rare it's a bit of a nightmare

    They have a client app which automatically gathers info on location, time, weather, bait etc every time the fish is caught and sends it to the server. I've never used it myself and this info is taken from the description page on the site. It's a 3rd party tool and using it is technically against ToS, so I would suggest not to discuss it here.

    i wonder, since it is extended blizzard, does the precondition Fair remain? Which would make triple blizzard a very long Fair->Blizzard window.

    I'm mainly thinking about this, since someone has comented here he had a helicoprion bite during Heatwave->Heatwave, which could have been because of what I just tried to mention.

    Yeah, I caught 4 NQ Mahar that window, and the guy next to me caught an HQ and missed on Shoni as well. =(
