And here I thought I could finally stop bothering my FC with the buff after getting Ironworks rod...

sure, I said endoceras was nasty, but after endo I encountered many more annoying fish which somehow changed my mind xDNepto Dragon is easy if, as you say, you hit over 402 gathering which I don't because my FC doesn't use the gathering buff.
And you yourself made a post saying how annoying Endoceras isDon't get me wrong, I appreciate what you're saying - Ndendecki is not one I'm choosing to try because it's 'easier', it's just in my catch range and the weather comes up often ^_^ Mostly I just don't understand how I can go 2 real life days with no double mooch there.
I got mine after midnight, clear/fair -> wind, if it somehow helps youAnd here I thought I could finally stop bothering my FC with the buff after getting Ironworks rod...

Grats!
That feeling when you finally get the bite from the fish that evaded you for days only to find out that you have accidentally used the wrong food. Cannot even blame this on rng... OTZ

With all the other caught, it can't be long until it will be found. While the Helicoprion is down, I'm working on the Shonisaurus in Witchdrop, would appreciate some help theorizing:
What I tried: Caught everything, including up to 3(5) Rhamphorynchus (if repairing without zoning won't interrupt it) in a row and 1 Mahar. (But no buff yet)
My ideas:
-> If its a buff it involves more than 5 Rhamphors or more than 1 Mahar.
-> If its not a buff, it would have to be a rare weather condition + mooch or straight catch.
-> Given the description about the lighter-than-air gas, matching the description on Balloon Bugs, i like to believe it would make sense for the Shonisaurus to feed on the Balloon Bugs, rather than Hoverworm, OR the other possible option, Saucerfish.
So what I want to have a go at next is checking rare conditions and make suffiencient attempts to catch with streight balloon bugs. - knowing that its still possibly a mooch off CloudCutter or Saucerfish.
If it was in Analogy to the Helicopryon:
Rarest condition->Zonespecific Condition->shared mooch with other big fish in area
then i would expect it to be:
Clear weather(4.7%) -> Blizzard (19.4%) -> Saucerfish Mooch
Baloon Bug description makes me wonder tho
What do you think is most likely the case here?
