Does the new rod give any extra bonuses? Like the fish dont get away?

I wonder if 421 gathering gives lower rate of "fish gets away..." for 2.3 patch big fish - it would be cool to catch and desynth more of them.

I'm inclined to think probably not. I've lost a couple (approx. 3 now) of 2.2 fish since getting Ironworks rod and I'd expect those to be almost guaranteed if there was a lower loss rate.

How many mooches did it take you to get a legendary bite?

Once I knew it was fog/overcast -> heat it took 3 mooches to get it. But I believe the window is only open from 10:00-19:00 so if it's fog/overcast -> heat at an earlier or later time then I think it catch anyway? Is this wrong?
