I feel like I might be the only person on my server that would use this status, but I want it nevertheless. In warcraft, we had addons that would do this trick and it was really helpful in starting up roleplay with others.

*Deep breath*
I haven't roleplayed ingame other than short, not-so-indepth in-character bits with FC mates (We do have personalities and character bios, but we really haven't sat down and actually RPed them other than short instances... which reminds me, I need to add/edit mine in the lodestone >_>. It's derpy.) or by using character-specific greetings in pugged dungeons (Heyo/hellos/Hello hello!~/Don't step on me! >:0 ....my lala is supposed to be a little bit of a huffy lad >.>), but I have role played deeply outside of it (...I could probably write books with these RPs and amount of characters from over the years) via offgame chats (aim, hangouts, etc) with a few close old friends for years (it's....where my Glad alt came from... lol *totally re-used character in a different medium*).
I'm sad to say that I don't think I've ever witnessed a role play in session in Couerl D: I'd love to see what it's like for the full time ingame RPers (*eavesdrops*) or even give it a casual whirl myself, without accidentally barking up all the wrong trees (awkwaaaard) or breaking continuaty or being unwelcome. With that said, seeing an icon for a role player open to RP could also help introduce new people to RPing (they might ask what it means/what you're doing, or if like me, know of it but not sure how to get into it/who is doing what/be a beacon for some (like myself) who wouldn't mind engaging on the fly if allowed (unless there are some 'no outside influence to the plotline' rule that I'm unaware of...). I'm not likely to go poking random people to check their info just to see if the FC they're in role plays or not when I haven't found a reason to make actively RPing ingame an activity to pursue, yet. .....yet.
I think while it may be a flag for harrassment, it can also be a flag for people to add to the enjoyment.I'd love to see this. I'd love to make RPing a little more common place and easier to identify for a franchise built upon character building and storylines.

TLDR;, Even though I don't RP ingame, I do RP a lot out of game (and wouldn't mind seeing how others do it ingame) - and I support RPers! xD

I think this is a good idea but I'm still waiting for them to add a (RP) server like they said they would back in beta
I know we've made it Balmung but I still think SE should have just gave an official one.
Agreed and if they did, I would hope they recognized Balmung as one so people don't transfer off if it is not designated as one.
I may pull an odd duck now, but while I have been preaching for an RP server for a long while, I'm starting bit by bit to see that at the very end, a server of -only- roleplayers would struggle to keep going. Roleplaying is an activity that takes high amounts of time and usually gives nothing back in terms of progress of the server's economy or status within the game's advancement overall (meaning, endgame content). A server without non-RPers would probably end up being with an inflated economy, with only few people farming and providing the market with items and materials (because most of people would be busy RPing, and RP takes time), and with very hard times in finding help for difficult content (because most of people would be busy RPing, and RP takes time). Duty Finder can only do so much to help that, and everybody knows the bad reputation DF pugs have in endgame content.
So, while I am mainly a roleplayer and have a sour eye for those who grief RPers and what they do, I don't think I could have a stable server's economy and community without non-roleplayers. I think Balmung is as close as how an official RP server should be in order to be functional.
I've liked a number of posts in here but wanted to add my voice as well as a +1 for both "In-Character/RP" status and a "Mentor" status for those of us who are keen to help out new folks.
Both of these would serve to help drive community so I can't see any potential negative to this (and it would mean I could use more of my search info for character relevant stuff, not queues as to whether I'm IC or not!)
I'd love both of these, i skirt the idea of roleplay quiet often and sometimes fall into my character role without really noticing I've done it.
I lovethe idea of a mentor tag too, i like helping others and would be great to see others who like helping too.
Anyways, to use an old Borderlands 2 forum meme to really show my enthusiasm.
