    Starting members in PVP

Having played front lines for the Immortal Flames over the past several months I find it quite frustrating how more often than not, my team starts with a significant amount of vacant slots.

In a 72 man battle, there can be a good eight members missing. other teams aren't missing any more than two or three.

I'd like to highlight this in hope others are finding it as frustrating as myself and maybe get this rectified. thanks.

Doesn't this problem come down to players simply queuing up but then not joining the match?

The alternative really isn't going to be all that much better. Waiting for 72 players to all accept. As we all know with just 24 players this can already take up to roughly half an hour waiting to enter ST. Wouldn't even want to imagine 72 players.

waiting for 72 people to join isn't the answer, I agree. that isn't the only solution though.

we spend a couple of minutes prior to the start waiting behind a gate. why cant others join in their stead during that time?

alternately I would like the option to not enter either if I'm going to have half my team missing. I'd rather the system organising the front line fail commencing battle if it detects such a deficit.

People can join in progress frontlines. The scarcity of it happening though is just due to the low interest from players in PvP in this game. So waiting for the teams to be filled, comes down to just waiting as long as for all 72 to have clicked accept.

If the incentive for PvP would increase, the issue would reduce. I'm not sure with which servers PvP currently matches players up, whether own server, own cluster or simply the entire region. But if it's either server or own cluster, matching up in the entire region may help reduce some issues due to an increased number of players in the pool.

Happens to Adders a lot too. In fact sometimes every person that didn't accept is in Adders, so we start with 7 less people while all the other teams are full.

I'd rather it happen than require all 72 to accept. I just want to PvP.

Yes, they can join. But they only join after the 2 minutes of waiting behind the gate. That means you are forced to go with a group of 5-6 players to the flag and surprise you cant hold it because of that and the first 200 points are gone. Well i dont have that problem anymore since i am transfered to Kujata, but some while ago on Phoenix this was a major problem and mostly leads to a loose.

I just want an option to allow manual matchmaking behind the gates. Like if a party has 5 healers and the others don't they can switch to other teams, or better yet, no one is in a team and everyone who enters the instance will have to preform the parties via invites or on a window with slots for A,B,C alliances and people choose their desired slot till the alliance is satisfied with the party comp.

If they didn't have the Grand Company rules in place they could easily start a match and equalize the teams.

Example: 8 Immortal Flames, 4 Maelstrom, 3 Twin Adders enter a Frontlines match - game could shift three Immortal Flames players; two into Twin Adders, and one over to Maelstrom so the match would be an even spread 5 v 5 v5 - from there the Duty Finder would just pull players in increments of three out of the Duty Finder queue and sort them into the three teams.

Unfortunately with their rigid restrictions on Grand Company, PVP Ranking, and the structure of the Duty Finder you frequently encounter lopsided teams.

Another option is to make a "Frontlines Matchboard" in the Den that presents players with a list of ongoing PVP matches including information such as number of players, their roles, the current score, and so on. If you see a new match or a match you could help out with you could select it and be placed into the match immediately - sort of like a Party Finder board for PVP.

They could even make the Frontlines a persistent battlefield and only generate a new instance once enough players leave the last instance or enough players join to require a new instance. Rather than the match placement giving EXP players could garner marks and EXP by making captures, meeting certain damage & healing goals, defeating other players, and taking down the Allagan Nodes.

In Primal datacentre happens often with Maelstrom. We always have more than 50% of the empty slots that people didn't join. And yes it would be nice if people could join in progress during the 2 minutes before frontlines start. Like someone said, people join after teams have been massacred by like 10v5 at flags.
