Retainer Lv 50 gear

Hello. I just had one of my retainers hit lv 50. He's a gladiator and I'm trying to figure out how to gear him now. I don't have any extra gear for him, so I have to go out and get some. I did notice however that my lv90 gear is greyed out when I look at my armory chest. I can't equip a valor coronet for example?

My question is what can or can't I equip him with? I don't want to go out and get something only to find out he can't equip it. Thanks!

Valor set is PLD only. It's one of the only cases where the job can equip something the class can't.

ilvl matters but stats don't for combat retainers. So use whatever, leftover accessories for any job work. CT/ST gear works, old soldiery gear that you don't need for whatever reason works.

Retainers can equip anything that has their class set on it. For example Gld can only equip items that have GLD or Disciple of War or ofc All Classes.

This excludes any armor from your grand company however.

well I feel stupid for not realizing it was only for PLD. Makes sense now lol.
