    Dear Devs - Summoners and their Egis

    As a summoner it is heartbreaking to see primals, fight primals, and not be able to use such primals.

    As summoner is currently balanced between the three types of egi, to keep this balance it would only make sense to introduce future egis as more of a choice of vanity.

    For example Titan and Shiva being interchangeable options as a Tank. Each with similar yet slightly different abilities (instead of defense boost maybe an evasion boost or even a debuff that would result in the same ability to tank)

    Ifrit and leviathan could be single target (stun replaced with another stun. Think water prison.)

    Garuda and Ramuh could be aoe focused (knock back replaced with bind/paralyze (with a very short duration) or instead of increasing dot time ramuh could have a small dot of his own)

    Now how would you implement the new egi you ask with only having summon 1 / 2 / 3 as the only options you ask? Simple treat them like equipment. Actually the ability tab has something like this in place for skills that are from other classes already. Simply add a new tab named "Egi" in the ability screen (this would only be visible while a summoner) that has three ability slots. Every egi would be catagorized as 1, 2, or 3 based on its role. You would only be able to slot a skill in the correct corresponding slot. Then slot to the hot bar and bam an Egi of your choice that still fits within the already defined roles. Tweaking would need to be done of course but overall balance should be preserved this way. The name issue is remedied by simply adding the name of the primal the egi is based on after the skill number (Summon I - Garuda, Summon I - Ramuh)

    This way all types of egi could be added at any point as easily as introducing the new egi, deciding it's number, and simply deciding how to make it's abilities slightly different yet the same. I sincerely hope this proposal is considered. Feel free to comment if you have an opinion on how to make this idea even better

    If you reach your 1,000 character limit just Ctrl +X the portion that exceeds the 1,000th character, post then edit. This allows you to bypass it which will save you daily posts.

    We don’t know how they will handle new Egi yet. Considering this won’t happen to the expansion, it’s likely they’ve already put in place how they are going to do the new Egi. I think they’ll make it similar to how you have it because having multiple pets of the same role is kind of..silly.

    I'm hoping that they change LB for the classes to actually look like something that class would use. For summoner, I'm hoping their egi will become the full sized primal and do aoe. Purely for cosmetic sake, you understand.

    I actually hope this is the way the new egis are handled, or something similar to this. So far what we do know is each job is getting 2-3 new abilities upon level cap increase, and that SMN is going to be getting Ramuh and Leviathan egis to summon. One of my concerns is that those two egis will count as two of the abilities SMN get. Another idea that I had and wouldn't be mad about is if Ramuh and Leviathan are kind of one off spells or abilities with a cool down and they do different things when "summoned" such as a large amount of damage with a debuff, ie Ramuh will just come in for a large lightning AoE attack that paralyzes mobs then dissapears or something similar kind of how summons work in the single player games. That way they can get closer to their originial looks like a lot of players have been clamoring about since they aren't going to be sustained summons and just one offs plus they would add in some pretty cool looking and flashy spell effects like others have been asking about, also would take care of the 2-3 abilities we are getting instead of some other generic stuff pushing SMN away from actually summoning things. As for the LB rework they were tossing around SMN LB could be something like they summon multiple "Primal" versions of their egis (more full looking) to do huge AoE damage just like the BLMs have meteor, ie Titan, Ifrit, and Garuda all come out around the place designated for the LB and kind of all do their thing kinda of how the two new spells regarding Ramuh and Leviathan would work, just on a larger scale.

    Razard If you had nothing to add you could simply have not posted anything and went on your way. But since your craving attention I will oblige. For someone like me who rarely comes to the forums it would be a relatively undiscussed idea to my knowledge unlike someone who is on here all the time with nothing better to do such as yourself.
