Hello happy forum people.

I have had this dilemma since launch now, and I seem to be unable to make a clear decision about it @.@

I'm here today to ask for your opinions, I have my own obviously, plus I've asked various friends in and outside of the game. And the opinion seems to be split right down the middle so it doesn't help me any more than where I started lol.

I love my character a lot! I spent about 4 weeks of Beta time perfecting him in the character creator. I actually started out as Miqo'te because in my head (ZOMG MALE MITHRA FINALLY MY DREAMS ARE COMING TRUE!), but I made one, realized the lack of customization to my specific tastes with miqo'tes and I was very disappointed that they weren't at all more beast-like, as mithra were. Anyways point being I spent a lot of time getting my Hyur Marik just exactly how I wanted.

Well close towards phase 4 start, they introduced the benchmark with character creator. So I kept messing around trying out different races and characters. I liked the amazing different choices that they finally offered (coming from FFXI and TERAs very lackluster customization options this was like gob smacking amazing!)

I discovered the amazing that was Elezen...! I really disliked the way Elvaan were portrayed in XI and I wasn't too keen on looking at Elezen when I first got into XIV:ARR Beta Phase 3. Plus my original plan had me be a kitty. So when I finally did check out the different Elezen options I was really pleasantly surprised at how much I really liked it! I love elves a lot in many different lores/stories/games/etc. But for some reason when I play MMO's I stick to the "safe" human type choice. Until TERA (Castanics were way better then the stupid Hulk bulky humans @.@), AION had me as an angel either side I chose, but I still added my own flare to it to make it as human-esque as possible (with pointy ears).

I feel like I'm rambling now... so community if you so wish to give me your opinion I would greatly appreciate it and just want more opinions on a much wider scale. Which Marik do you think looks the best? Best portrays the dark hair, blonde highlights, and orange eyes? These are Marik's traits no matter which race he is. Which best fits my favorite/main job SMN and my 2nd WAR! Which do you think I should just finally stick with! I'm down to my last fantasia pack till they release more. I've been going back and forth between Hyur and Elezen Marik. I love both equally. The ONLY reason I default back to Hyur is because I spent so long making Hyur Marik perfect during Beta, I just feel like my effort in being creative would be wasted. I look forward to your opinions. Sorry for the long read ty for taking the time if you did if not here you go other people.

TL:DR Should Marik be an Elezen or Hyur based on the looks, and looks on the two jobs seen in the pics below?
