Now. The veering left began in part because the Dread randomly would cleave the party on it's way to the center. Though Someone kiting a tether complained as the dread ran through and cleaved him on the way to me.

So is there a most correct way? or is it just whatever works?
You should pull the dread in a way which is most comfortable for you and will not allow the boss or dread to cleave the party, If dps bitch about not being able to get their positionals off You tell them to shut up and be more aware. Perfecting this will come with time and familiarity with the encounter. You never want to turn the boss towards the party. A simple Provoke>Shield Lob/Tomahawk will be enough to get his attention. Follow it up with your enmity combo. Only use provoke first though, if you are going to be following it up immediately with Lob or Toma or else your provoke will be wasted. Ideally you want the first move the dread ques up to be targeted at you, so if medica II is out or another heal is cast the dread will still run to you first even if heals pull for a millisecond. Stick with what you have been doing by veering to the left. It is the exact thing I do and works extremely well! The person pulling the tether should be aware of the massive dreadnaught. If not, then it's on them not you.
