    Turn 8 Tanking. Pulling Dreads

Every time I run this, I get slightly different directions on what how to pull these. What seems to work the best is to veer to the left of the Avatar, and pull, moving towards the right so he lands in the middle.

But there have been times where I've been asked to run straight through, grab mob, and pull down the center.

Now. The veering left began in part because the Dread randomly would cleave the party on it's way to the center. Though Someone kiting a tether complained as the dread ran through and cleaved him on the way to me.

So is there a most correct way? or is it just whatever works?

Stand almost in the very center of Avatar. Where a brainjack person might stand but so Avatar is still facing forwards.

Shield Lob dread when it pops. You'll be in range. Pop some cooldowns for hate generation if nothing else (even Tempered Will helps here), then move back a bit so the dread isn't cleaving whoever is going to do brainjack.

If you're having to spin avatar around or flip him 180, you're overcompensating.

That comes down to your dps having situational awareness.

I recall doing that once and the raid group taking damage, Which was why I went to the left, turning the boss 90 degrees away. Not sure if it was a heal following gas bomb (or w/e it's called) and it briefly turned... though it never lost aggro on my screen. Doing this doesn't turn the boss 180, But it does cause the dread to veer away from the party before being re-situated towards the center.

I don't have issues with hate. I use thrill of battle for the extra enmity from the heal, for when it spawns.

You're only in the dead center to pick up the Dread with lob. You back up afterwards so it's on top of Avatar.

Healers need to try to not have Medica2 or Whispering Dawn up when Dread is about to pop. There's little need for it and it just makes hate more difficult.

Yeah I always toss a voke after lob just in case there are too many Regens ticing.

    I lob > voke > lob > Spirits > 1,2,3

the second lob is a waste of TP but my main job in the fight is the dreads.

I like to lock the dread down so its stacked directly on top of the boss, perfectly lined up for my melee dps. The method of positioning listed above covered it pretty well. I tend to use this exact rotation:

Depending on what dread it is, I may have less time to prep buffs, such as 3rd dread. For me after the dread tower hits the last light, you have about 20 seconds till it pops.

My rotation is always starting with FOF:

Shield lob > provoke > shield lob > fast blade > scorn > savage blade > pop some def buff > halone.

I use provoke just as a lock down precaution, so my healers don't have to let up on healing and my dps can proceed to go balls to the wall.

You should pull the dread in a way which is most comfortable for you and will not allow the boss or dread to cleave the party, If dps bitch about not being able to get their positionals off You tell them to shut up and be more aware. Perfecting this will come with time and familiarity with the encounter. You never want to turn the boss towards the party. A simple Provoke>Shield Lob/Tomahawk will be enough to get his attention. Follow it up with your enmity combo. Only use provoke first though, if you are going to be following it up immediately with Lob or Toma or else your provoke will be wasted. Ideally you want the first move the dread ques up to be targeted at you, so if medica II is out or another heal is cast the dread will still run to you first even if heals pull for a millisecond. Stick with what you have been doing by veering to the left. It is the exact thing I do and works extremely well! The person pulling the tether should be aware of the massive dreadnaught. If not, then it's on them not you.
