Lets see we have Omega weapon looming over us. The "weapon" used to destroy some island and the disappearance of the Circle of Knowing. Ishgard is also giving villainous vibes.

But I understand what you mean though. There isn't a singular big bad. For now I'd say Lahabrea and Elidibus is the biggest threat

Check out the 1.0 cutscenes of Nael. He is literally our Sephiroth. He even had his own version of the iconic Nibelheim fire scene.

As for ARR? Elidibus, Lahabrea, or Teledji Adeledji.

Our big baddie... well, it's probably going to be someone who we never suspected. My thoughts constantly drift over to Lahabrea (give us a harder fight please) and Elidibus. Teledji Adeledji, well he's on the Syndicate which full of crooks in my opinion.

Nael van Darnus was amazing. SE ruined Gaius van Baelsar by making him take a backseat to Lahabrea, the real Gaius would have done things on his own not side with the Ascians.

As for our "Sephiroth," it'll be a 3-story prong until Expansion. Ultima Weapon/Teledji Adeledji, Cloud of Darkness/CT3 whatever, and 3rd Coil boss (Louisoix Deus Leveiller prob). Three stories going at once.

    "take a backseat to Lahabrea"

Yeah, I must've missed the part where you're fighting Lahabrea for the entire final stretch of the 2.0 story instead of any of the empire. And I certainly missed the parts where Lahabrea fought you instead of Gaius fighting you utterly solo followed by fighting you in Ultima Weapon.

He had some help from Lahabrea...but Gaius thought he was playing him as much as Lahabrea was biding time for Ultima. So that wording kind of majorly overblows what the presentation was actually like.

I get this feeling as well. Lore-wise, it can't be more than a few weeks since Gaius fell. Our enemy is being cautious since their first plan just failed spectacularly. But they are getting a second plan ready (posted in another thread my theory about it, how the Asciens are trying to make us stronger to do *something* now that Lagabrea's first plan failed) and we'll definitely see more soon

The best fight of the game, to me, has been the fight against Gaius on the lift platform in Praetorium - on the way to Ultima Weapon.

"Why do you fight? For Eorzea?"

    Much respect.

There you go. Which of our numerous ARR antagonist, have you felt true respect towards?

It's unfortunate that a lot of newer players don't get the same epic feel from the Praetorium as we got back at launch. Gaius and Ultima were genuinely hard to beat when your entire team was fresh 50s. You FELT the epicness of the situation. Now most new players roll into a party with 7 i100+ people who steamroll the whole dungeon and make Gaius and Ultima look like chumps. The Lahabrea fight...this is the whole reason the Ascians use people as puppets. They aren't Gods...they're just spirits that are trapped and want out. They have no power right now against the Light. Thus why they're trying to awaken their God.

it's more about, who is our big boss enemy that we are looking to stop. i know you will say the ascien or zordiark, but i feel they are way too much invisible and we can't really put a name on the Ascien, most of them did appear 1-2 times in some Cut scene and since that... nothing.

in the V1 it was Nael and the empire, in the 2.0 it was gaius and lahabrea... but since that, nothing really charismatic for make us remember them name. i feel FF14 lack a really charismatic bad guys actually, we are fighting the primordial but it seems soo much... empty. if we had a bad guy, we will have he feeling of continuity between quest line from the different big patch, but there it's..."the ascien" as a group not as a person.

what do you feel about this part?
We'll never have a boss in 2.0 like that.

Each person that could have fit the bill has been swept to side by the horrendous story-telling by whoever is in-charge of the main scenario. People like Gauis and Lahabrea and others got pushed to the side for most of the main scenario, then you just kill them. It's the same with Crystal and Syrcus Tower, it's the same with the primals.

Constantly useless filled quests that everyone has said not to keep doing, which SE has kept doing.

We'll get lots of people that SE will push out to be the "Oh-so-cool" enemy, but then brush them to the side like nothing. You won't hear about them again till we fight them and kill them. I have lost so much faith in this team to pull this game together. The expansion has to go to be spot on with it's story and gameplay.
