PvP dead once again?

Speaking for myself, I only did FL for the pony and once I got that I took a one month break from it before deciding to go for the gear as a glamour. I got rank 40 last week (had only been playing 7 games a week for the challenge log) and have not touched it since. I noticed that the queue system obviously has some terrible bugs in that if your queue time goes over 45 minutes, you're better off requeuing. Doing so would usually get me a game within 20 minutes.

Speaking of the queue system, it is awful. I'd estimate less than 2% of my games ever started with a full team and it does not begin to replenish ranks until AFTER the game starts. Far, far too often my team would start with under 50% attendance and screw us from the start (some games we're not full until 7-8 minutes in; unacceptable). We'd make comebacks for sure, but often the deficit of the start was too great to overcome. It's easy to see why people have stopped playing after such an atrocious experience.

I cant believe ppl post this and wonder why they teams are never full. You just said that restarting gets you in faster, you know what that means right? the first game that you were reserved too is now down a player because you left.
The system might have some small bugs but everyone complaining about it are the same ppl complaining about it when it was first ut and it had the same issues as crystal tower and withdraw spam.

Its either what we have now or back to withdraw spam, id MUCH prefer the way it is now.

Umm, wut? You're not really suggesting that withdrawing from a queue means your reservation is kept for another group, are you? I think you're horribly confused how these things work. . .

No. I think it really is bugged. I've noticed that when I go afk I can have a queue upwards of 80 minutes while I'm off playing League of Legends or browsing the net, come back and withdraw/requeue and can have a queue with max people in the next 10 minutes.
If I can have max people in 10 minutes, why couldn't I have 36 or 48 in 80? I rest my case.

Since nexus light farming, I've been doing frontlines almost non-stop. Make sure you queue for "in progress". On the primal data center, I rarely wait longer than 15 min for a frontlines queue.

I'm glad you brought this up because quite honestly it was making already floundering teams even worse. Lets be honest, not everyone is a PvP all-star like me (years of experience) and adding even more incentive for the casual players to try it out is annoying.

Yes I'm an elitist prick, but my server isn't exactly into hardcore PvP so finding people to do premades with wasn't viable. Having to deal with 'lightLoL' people who haven't a clue how to pvp just drags a team down. This is why PvP in FFXIV will never be taken seriously by the PK crowd and sadly why I have no faith in it.

And this was the biggest fail Square could do on frontlines. Now there are tons of people who want to farm thier nexus light, but they dont even need to care about the result of the match, because the light is the same, no matter if your team wins frontlines or not. So you have now half a team of real pvp players who wants to win and the other half of your group are ingnorant people, who just want to finish frontlines so they can get thier light. I dont get it why Square did this? I mean, sure nothing against farming light on frontlines, but why cant they do it so, that even a light farmer has do win frontlines to get the best light (Idk how this light farming exactly works, because i dont work on relic weapon)

This also leads to groups without any healer in it, because its not important if your team wins or not and so on nobody wants to change thier class to healer. And thats just stupid and ridiculous.

This part, I totally agree with. It sucks, but it is what it is.

But, don't assume that just because farming light is incentive to do pvp means that everyone in there with a novus weapon is terrible. I admit, I'm not a serial pvpr. But I get it, and plenty of others do. As long as people listen and follow directions, you'll have a fighting chance. People in my games yesterday listened up, went to middle for the drones/nodes, fought inside of the capture circles, didn't chase people, and we won a few. Sure, there were people afking, trying to farm cheap light. But there have been afkers and dumb players since day one. And, being completely honest, Frontlines isn't at all the most efficient way to farm light, even when it does have a bonus. But it gives people like me who like both pve and pvp a reason to go nuts on pvp for a bit.
