BCNMs

I was trying to be nice, but since you asked for it:

Would really enjoy to see something like this in XIV.
For those who are not familiar with XI, BCNMs or Black Circle Notorious Monsters was a instanced battle for various levels and party sized to partake in with rare and valuable loot to be awarded if victorious.

If I'm not mistaken, they were called Burning Circle Notorious Monsters. So what you meant to say was: "I don't know wtf I'm talking about, but I wanna post something because I think it's cool"

Perhaps could call them Arena Notorious Monsters or ANMs that can take place at the Gladiator's coliseum, the Lancer's guild hall, and the Marauder's battleship. And the cost to enter these ANMs could be Guild Marks or perhaps a new item put into the loot pool of all mobs like crystals, just more rare.

Wow yah! That's just like BCNMs! You even thought up a new name for them! Congratulations! You go on and keep thinking you know what a BCNM is!

However I do favor using guild marks since it gives more relevance to doing leves and I would really like to put all those left over GMs to some good use. Furthermore it would go inline with the story and also give the guild halls more relevance with possible high end fights with the Guild Masters themselves in the arena.

Guild marks, huh? Sounds good. You, me, and a group of marauders can all get together with our stockpile of marauder's guild marks and give em hell! We can do it without a healer! Yah! What an absolutely awful -- er, I mean -- great idea!

Or maybe we can just solo them - which circles right back to: You don't know wtf a BCNM is still.

I think it would also be good way for your job to earn new abilities, spells, armor, and new class titles by proving their worth in battle at the arena at their prospective guild hall.

Yah! We should get weapons, accessories, and everything else from it too! Screw other content!

I could also see end game ANMs taking place in Ishgard or other new cities that come in future updates/expansions. And although it would be nice to see Maat again, I don't think I want to go toe to toe with the old man again.

What guild is Maat in?

Would appreciate any feedback, this wasn't a thought out post just something I wrote as I was thinking.

Fighting the Lancer Guild Master in Mistbeard Cove would make more sense.

Alright, I'll give you one here. You managed to trick me into thinking you knew what you were talking about when I made my post. I skimmed through your OP thinking it had SOMETHING to do with BCNMs, and I give most people on these forums credit for knowing wtf they're talking about. I stand corrected.

I don't see how this proves he knows nothing about the BCNM system, it was hardly as if anyone referred to them by anything other than "BCNM" anyway.

Unnecessarily harsh, the OP is just putting forward a suggestion.

At no point did the OP say that if you did one in a marauders guild you had to be in a group of only Marauders, making up points for the sake of argument is pointless.

Again, you are making up points for the sake of your own argument. At no point does the OP say that this should be in place of other content. What is your problem anyway, surely this IS content and a way of gaining items? If i recall correctly BCNM's DID reward weapons, accessories and a plethora of other items?

What guild is Maat in?

I think he was referring to the location of the fight, as it is in a BCNM location. At no point did the OP say Maat was in a guild or even imply he is...

You didn't even read what the OP wrote properly so perhaps you should think before you write your posts?

My thoughts:

I like the idea, especially the point of using guild marks to perform them. I'm sure we all have a large stockpile of them after we have bought all the abilities so why not use them to do something fun, and potentially get a reward?
