I pay my cards off at the end of the month, have yet paid AMEX/VISA/Discover anything extra other than foreign transaction fees, which is about 2.5~3%.

They stay in business by those processing fees from the merchants and collecting interest of unpaid balances.
Ok, fair enough. I misread the article and may have an incomplete idea of how charges work. I was pretty sure there was a transaction fee, I know my bank card has user fees at the end of each month. Regardless, I do not have a credit card nor do I want one. I would much rather spend my own money outright instead of the "stealing from peter to pay paul" money shuffle. Paypal is great for this as I can take money directly out of my bank account. It's a personal thing, I know if I had a credit card I would get into lots of trouble with it so the smart thing for me is to not get one. Thank you for respecting my choice.

So Mr SE... first you remove a pay option than was the ONLY viable for people living outside of the US, because either don’t trust your online cash services (And with justified reason seeing your horrible client service) to give you a credit or debit card number, cant buy that games cards than are far more expensive or simple are not available in many country’s (like the one I live). Then you say there is going to be more ways to sub, but you don’t say when or how? Well let me tell than this incompetent person than is taking this decisions should by fired right now, because you are doing thing the worst way possible and if the objective is to lost costumers you are doing it excellent.

Seems I'm glad I got my copy of FF14 through Steam. I'm Canadian. I add funds to my Steam account with PayPal, which is tied to my bank account, and pay for my account that way.

Better yet, how about not resubbing until they add an option I can pay safely and surely with, aka Paypal. At least in my case they have 6 months to add more payment options, but others aren't as lucky.

"60 day time card" means it adds 60 days of play time so they work just like they suppose to.

On the back of a time card case it says
Monthly subscription rate may be lower for some customers using other payment methods other then GTC

I'm really disappointed, I don't trust the way SE treats cc information, so PayPal was the option for me, now that I cannot pay that way, I'm not going to give them my CC#, and time cards are not an option, I pay 24 USD for 60 days, I know 5 USD may not seem like a big difference for some, but given the exchange ratio for my country, it's not that small amount.
Basically, I'm not paying them anything until they fix this issue. I've done the implementation of PayPal payments for some on-line stores and I know it's pretty straight forward, I really think they are making poor choices.

Go and make a new Debit Visa and all your problems solved. Safe and fast and you dont care even if t gets hacked cause no money inside. You just go and deposit money only when you are about to pay.

That seems like a poor solution, which requires me a lot of time and doesn't guarantee a thing, for an issue that is SE's responsibility, since they removed my preferred method of payment without an apparent reasonable reason. In my country, debit cards that can make on-line transactions are rare, we usually need a credit card for that, banks have their reasons (which I sincerely don't understand), so your solution presents more problems than it should.

In SE's defense they did not remove the PayPal option, it was through a third party that went belly up. they left and so did the paypal option. its not like they had a direct paypal button and then removed it. it was still a lot of messing around when three simple steps has me paying via paypal in any other online store I use.
