People kicking new players for watching cs's.....just stupid.

The only cutscenes which can be viewed are the ones at the beginning and at the end of the dungeon. For places like Praetorium or Castrum Meridianum where there are cutscenes DURING the actual dungeon, those cutscenes can only be viewed from inside the dungeon itself.

So no, not all can be watched in the Inn.

There isn't a single in-dungeon cutscene in Castrum or Praetorium that can't be viewed in the inn. They're located in the Duties category and not Main Scenario. The only difference between watching them in the dungeon or in the inn is who shows up in the cutscene with you. Some scenes will show your party members behind you (who don't do anything anyway, so big whoop) if you're grouped.

A little consideration and a splash of communication from both sides dispels this issue every time. Talking helps people remember that there is a person behind that character, whilst the player watching the cutscenes would do well to remember that their 'immersion' likely has 7 other people twiddling their thumbs waiting.

You know, for as much as you wanna push "use PF", how about this: YOU make a party finder for Cape Westwind or Praetorium and report back how long it takes to fill up.

Just say, if you put on PF and shout at mor dhnoa for help or ask for help in LS/FC, it will fill up fast (before nexus). Been there, done that

Even fights like Ifrit which didn't have a timed element to it I saw a couple groups breakup because someone didn't skip the cutscene.

People would leave over the smallest things in 1.0 and replacements are a pain to get because there was no duty finder which means you went back to uldah to shout using up more of your limited anima.

Because of the mythology bonus for doing the daily roulette. There's generally no other reason someone would be doing either of the two stories dungeons after clearing them the first time. If someone does them just for fun they're a rarity.

And I know people might also do them to help a friend or FC member, but then they probably wouldn't be skipping cutscenes in the first place.

Stuff like this is pretty much the same as what you sometimes get in 4-man dungeons. People just want to get it over with as fast as they can and speed through it, bashing on everyone who is holding them back or kicking them.
And then there's the people that just don't feel like putting in any effort at all, because they "have done it a hundred times already and think it's boring". This I got last week and it ended up in me having to bite the dust at Tam Tara HM's 2nd boss since the other dps didn't want to eat the orbs and the healer was dcing.

Nothing you can really do about it. (aside from making a PF group of course, but let's be honest you shouldn't be forced to do that in the first place if you're doing it for the very first time) Selfish people will always be selfish.

While I agree that having to skip cutscenes is annoying, it's also rude NOT to skip them when the majority of the party wants you to.

Some people here are asking "Why don't YOU use PF to setup a party where cutscenes are skipped?" - well, here's why: the majority of players, in any given group, prefer to skip / are skipping, since the majority of players are not first-timers.
This is all the reason you guys need - majority wins, and this is also why kicking people actuall works.

I'm sorry but that comment is silly. You can flip it, what makes players more entitled to run content quickly than those who want to watch cutscenes? It totally ruins the mood the first time you run something to skip it all, then watch it at the inn. If you play for story then you don't want that. Everyone is an entitled to play how they want as much as anyone else.

People need to learn if you want to play a certain way PF is your best bet, there will always be conflict of interest in DF groups.

Regarding the roulette comment. I thought the entire point of the daily roulette was to get more people to redo older dungeons to help with queues for new players. Do your roulette, let the new people watch their cutscenes. Then if you wanna farm some quick runs start a PF.

It has been stated before that kicking newcomers for being a newcomer is a form of harassment SE doesn't want in the game. They could add a newcomer retalliation feature that, if they get kicked for such reasons, those who vote kicked them will lose the myth reward and be unable to que duties for a whole day. I'd love to see that.

Would be abused, you'd get people who would just sit there and get carried, people wouldn't be able to kick them because of the fear of getting a 1 day ban with df. Someone on the last thread I saw like this proposed that the newbies at the end get to select the vets that they felt helped them and give them the myth reward and the ones they didn't select didn't get it.
