ATMA nerfing - An addressal to those who object to it.

All this complaining about rng "not being fair"... it is the ultimate in fairness. "Chance" is unbiased.

What wouldn't be fair would be giving the last cookie to one person, just because. What IS fair, is everyone rolling dice to see who gets the last cookie.

But SE has plenty of cookies for you. You just have to roll a high enough score.

I would also like to see some stats on how many people have actually not gotten atma drops, fates completed, and Atma weapons obtained, server wide.

Obviously the community can't provide these stats.

But the whole idea that there are tons of people out there with this problem, is based on this forum and this forum alone. Based on people complaining on this forum. With "facts" and "statistics" about how many fates they have done.

I am not calling them liars. I am just saying our perception of this "problem" is all based in a false reality, with no statistical data or facts. It may not even exist.

There have been a few cases on the forums where people have been proven to have lied.

Then including those that probably did not have the weapon equipped and or forgot to re-equip it after doing a dungeon.

So like you, I also take all those "statements" with a heavy dose of skepticism.

I believe the ATMA wall--and rest of the relic quest-- has served and is continuing to serve its purpose: To make latest installments of the relic weapon rare among the playerbase.

If this is the purpose SE had in mind, then nothing should unfortunately change. Pretty much it's working as intended.

I need citation, but I recall someone mentioning that they had delayed the new step of the relic questline (believe it was Novus) because not enough people had their weapons upgraded (specifically atma and animus)

I completely agree that the design of the atma/animus/novus nightmare was very poorly done. I myself said ta the hells with it a long time ago and went back to playing normally. I run a FC and don't have the time or the inclination to sit and grind FATEs for hours and hours a day. Funny thing is, like many other decisions SE made, in the end, it was irrelevant because while my time doing other things has netted me only 2 atmas ever it has given me enough tomes to get my i110 weapon and shield which blow the Animus and even the out of the box Novus out of the water. And it didn't cost me my life and soul or millions in gil.

So it is pretty much a matter of whether you want that ridiculous, over lenseflared, glowstick as a symbol. Because that is really all it is. It is a 'hey look at me' I spent a huge chunk of my life farming for something less effective than what you have!' I'm sure I will get mine one day but it will be a happy surprise oh... huh, just got my last atma. And then I will toss the worthless thing on a retainer like so many other classic FF elements that were supposed to mean something.. like our relic gear. *shrug* Game life goes on.

It's not that we don't believe you put a lot of time into it.
It's that we don't believe you represent the vast majority of players.

And we don't have any meaningful data on how many fates were done, atmas obtained, server wide.

Also 300 fates is not necessarily enough to see an Atma sorry.

Oh, hey.
Good thing we're not blue in the face from this topic, yet.

Since this topic is suddenly flaring up again, just to see, I started on my third set of Atma today after finishing my second set in only 5 days.
And I'm now at 3/12. Again. In about 5 hours.

It isn't broken. I promise.

Don't wear yourself out to misery, if it's not putting out, move to another zone or go do something else.

I don't really see any complaints anymore other then ATMA Farming Complaints.
No one is whining, or really complaining about anything else .We are paying customers and deserve our voice to be heard. Clearly RNG has favored you.
Making something that is Miserable into minor stepping stone would stop all the complaints.
What do any of you have to gain from leaving the ATMA farming as it is please tell me!

There is the key word you dont have the time, but thats not really the issue as this quest can be done when you have the time it will just take longer. You dont have to do this all in one sitting, you can still get the drops. No matter how the system is changed it will still take time but if they change the system players may well regret it as it could be even longer or more of a grind.
