Anybody try out FFXIV on Windows 10

Installed and downloading drivers now.

It works (the core kernel is still pretty much Win8.1 so 8.1 drivers all work well). It also functions in virtual desktops but doing some heavy processing in the main window might degrade performance of FF14 in a virtual desktop to the point that sound might start skipping. This depends on your systems overall performance of course. But the reason for this is applications in virtual desktops get dropped to a new 'lowest' processor scing priority.

This is pretty good to hear. Windows 8 drivers a pretty stable so it's nice that Windows 10 can use them. About apps running in the virtual desktop getting lower priority for processor time - ugh. While it makes sense, I hope MS gives users full control over priority scheduling. I got to see performance with VDs for myself, though. I have pretty old hardware Q9550 and 4GB of Ram with a GTX650 on top of a HDD.

On topic: I don't mind how Windows 8 works, but Windows 10 doesn't look so bad either. Might use that instead in the future.

Considering that Windows 8.1 is the most recent version of windows... I think you'd better delete that ISO immediately, because, you know, there's no such thing as Windows 10 as of yet, and it's probably some sort of virus that will F your computer up hardcore.

Windows 10 is the next OS and theres already DEV release's being sent out. Im pretty effing excited for it after the flop that 8/8.1 was.

A wise and practiced programmer would, but a lazy or ignorant one wouldn't. You'd be surprised how many are in the latter category.

To get FF14 to work on windows 10, All you gotta do is start the lancher, go to config, and at the bottom has a slider for "direct x 11" slide it to 'on' and it will work.

You just rezzed a thread from nearly a year ago from when windows 10 was in beta...
