Its new for me that ISP are writing the netcode for games as FFXIV...
You know: When programming (speciall timing issues in action games) for LAN games with direct connection it is different than when programming network programms.
The main issue SE have is their action RPG combat style where you have to react on actions very very fast...

I live in a country with one of the slowest internet connections in europe, living on a suburb with one of the smallest ISP's in my country yet I never got a disconnect or lag. Guess Im lucky. But seriously ppl you must stop writing such things on forums cause no one really cares if you leave or not. Most of the times it's your ISP who cause the problem and not the game servers. SE can't fix your bad router, bad cables or your sucky ISP.

Since other games aren't hosted on the same servers I'm not quite sure what the performance of other games has to do with the issue at hand. One game or service working while another doesn't isn't real proof of server problems because that's not how internet trafficking works.

There could be a number of reasons why you lag in a game, which admittedly includes problems with the server itself. However, the most common issues are typically caused by your ISP or bad routing. It's rarely the actual game servers themselves, as much as they make an easy scapegoat. Actual server problems are generally widespread and affect lots of people at once (see: the threads that crop up when the servers crash). Isolated problems like what the OP describes usually points to an ISP or something in between that a company like SE has no real control over.

I don't need to use wtfast or w /e it is called but how much does that cost per month? If anything, people can ask nicely if SE can make some type of deal with them. Like sub for a year and you get wtfast 75% off.

The lag is pretty debilitating most times. It's this game because everything else I do and other games run fine without lag.
