Am I forgiven....
The difference between Ramuh and the other primals is that it's a communcation/coordination check. That one DPS that fell off the boat in Levi isn't going to wipe the group unless he was needed to meet the DPS checks. That one DPS that stupidly double or triple stacked thunders or missed on feared people will wipe the group. There is nothing mechanically difficult about the fight, no real dodging, nothing. It's just making sure people can actually pay attention to what is going on around them for a change.I feel like this could be said of ANY EX fight, really.
I think Ramuh takes a lot of practice and it helps to have a core group go in each time to practice with and quickly understand how things will be communicated. Like another poster said, this can make pugging Ramuh Ex incredibly difficult.
But if you can get a core group, just keep at it. An FC static of mine took a couple nights each week and would slowly work through the phases, and by now we have it on farm fairly easily. Just keep telling yourself 'Welp, no landslides.'
Out of all the Ramuh pugs I've been in, I can say with certainty that majority of the wipes were due to people not paying attention and stacking thunders or not hitting feared people. Not the adds, not the orbs, simple lack of awareness.
Because nobody has said it yet

I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
give people numbers and ask them to do their job based on numbers and it is a walk in the park

As others have already pointed out, it's not that difficult of a fight, however any fight can be extremely hard w/o the proper strategy in place, and people willing to cooperate and listen carefully to direction. As long as you have everyone communicating correctly and have a set strategy in place, any fight is an easy fight once you've learned it properly with all those tools I just mentioned. I wish you OP and anyone else the best of luck on Ramuh Ex, and hope the RNG is kind.

Furthest I ever made it was down to two arbiters before Judgment Bolt oneshots the group.
The mechanics are simple, but simple mechanics do not make for an easy fight. You have buff management, orbs & tethers. The sheer amount of damage being dealt out and the DPS check are what cockblock a good number of pugs. Specially once the arbiters come out, that's when people start dropping and the damage taken grows. I'd say it leaves very little room for error despite being an encounter built on simple mechanics.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

LOL nothing but a weeabooIt's cause the Japanese players are better at this game than the rest of the world... :x
At least I can speak for Americans, we are playing for amusement only to maybe pass the time. This is about as involved as watching Game of Thrones or something to westerners while eating dinner with one hand and maybe we just have our non dominant hand moving our character around.... If we played it like we were actually playing a sport outdoors we'd do better, or, if we played like how people drive so aggressively on the freeway... lol
Different folks, different attitudes on what's fun.
I'd like to see any Japanese raid group go up against Method, Blood Legion, or Paragon or any of the top 25 wow raiding guilds. No chance...
Some players just come here, and say " It's easy " or " it's the other that make it hard ".
It's like saying, and it's also what they think : " I found this easy, you found this hard, i'm better then you "
I feel sad for them, they have something to proof or I dont know.
