    Tips for solo healing T8?

    We're consistently making it to about 15% with me constantly burning cooldowns and MP potions. All the videos I've looked up run double bard for near full uptime on ballad but we have just one who's also playing TP song half the time. Is running two bards recommended? Are there any videos I could watch where there aren't two bards?

    It just feels like a mad rush of spam heals so it's hard for me to figure out where I can do something better.

    WHM or SCH tips are appreciated, I've done both with similar results. I'm using Medica II or Cure III (depending on tower set) on WHM and Rouse + Whispering Dawn on SCH for defensive towers but it gets really messy towards the end (I think 7th set?) where we have landmines and a second defensive tower go off before I have everyone topped off. I'm aware that may need to change but not sure how.

    What is your group composition ? 1 Tank, 1 Healer (Whm) and 6 DPS ?

    Perhaps reevaluate how you trigger the towers? I understand there's multiple ways to handle the towers as well as when to push phase etc, but if you're solo healing, probably find the best method that has 0 AF threat (You no need to stoneskin/adlo the AF victim), and your above mentioned landmines + defensive tower combo.

    I'll list out what my static does that gives us the above conditions:
    Wave 5(? I'm not sure which exact wave, but it's the 1 with mines and defensive tower), 2 on Mines, after clearing mines and during second brainjack, push boss below 45% (10 second window, with an extra dps, you probably need to hold dps and wait for the 2nd brainjack, if you can't meet this requirement, sorry can't help you further ), if you did it correctly, Avatar will straight away cast AF, instead of Ballistic Missile.

    Wave 6 (starting of 3 tower phases), 2 person on Defensive tower A, 1 person on Defensive Tower B, once the 1st AF blows up, tank enters defensive tower A to manual trigger (5 sec window b4 next AF is applied).

    Wave 7, 2 person on Defensive tower, 1 person on mines.

    If you are solo healing I assume you have at least 5 dps. If the boss is at 15% at the 7th tower set with 5 dps then idk what to tell you. My group uses 4 dps and we skip the 5th tower and kill it at the end of the 7th tower rotation. When we ran solo tank we ignored dreads and mines to burn the boss meaning we skipped the mechanics of the towers your group is struggling with.

    Are you sure it isn't the 6th set right after the first allagan field?

    That's what I was thinking but the group doesn't like to make huge adjustments, even though I think it might be necessary if we're to make this work.

    We did get a Ballistic Missile at around 35% I think, which we thought was weird, but it didn't cause any problems. We skip set 5 though and I'm sure most groups do.

    Self achievement mainly, though my co-healer is also a DPS main who was stuck healing so I think he's happier with this too. Ever since my group tried it with T6 and found it laughably easier, everyone has been liking it so we've been trying to do this with everything.

    You might be right, I don't clearly remember because it was hectic trying to keep everyone up. It might have been landmines from 6. All I know is that the way we normally do it (with 2 healers) is after landmines go out, tank triggers the last stack on defensive and that's not working out with solo heal. >>

    Also, any comments on the bard situation? I'm assuming this is doable with just one bard? Or is two recommended?

    1) Not healing is also part of healing
    2) Put two people in the mine tower on set 6

    I'm not sure about the bard situation since he's going to have to alternate between tp and mana songs. Depends on your melee and how often they need song. I'd really encourage tower pushes to be changed so there is no AF up when defensive towers are going off. Having to deal with the mitigation for that plus heal up so much aoe damage will be way too intense for solo healing.

    You can align the mechanics by by doing the following

    2 West/1 South/0 mines then AF person triggers west tower after their AF goes off.
    2 dread/1 mines and kill it as the dread spawns.

    If your group is having to kill the dread and handle the last set of mines you may need a third person to push the dread tower to help space the tower spawn.

    You have to trigger both towers early at 45% to skip ballistic. Otherwise, if one tower runs its full duration without beging triggered you will always get the last ballistic missle no matter which % you're at.

    Make sure you are making full use of HOTs, e.g HOT and Cure 1 not spamming Cure IIs

    really control the pace of the fight with tower manipulation.
