Just because it can take a good amount of time doesn't stop it from being casual. It can be done at your own pace, theres no learning progression, no need of parties or a static like coil. It's just clearing easy content, aka FATEs. Casual != completing fast, it's the lack of complexity and it's ease of access that defines it. The inital relics where less casual than the proceeding stages of the relic. Due to the, at the time, difficulty of the fights needed to complete. Just look at how many found Titan HM as a brick wall in their path to gaining their relic.
