Alert: Spirit Bonding Bots in Urth's Gift

So tonight we were wondering around South Shroud and ran into a bot spirit bonding in Urth's Gift. It was a Paladin in full Crafted i55 gear, Animus Curtana, Novus Shield with a LV 10 Chocobo who stood in one spot spamming Stoneskin every 5 seconds, then proceeded to attack anything that moved in melee range with Halone combo. If a mob was hit and pulled out of range it would not move or give chase, and would resume attacking if it was brought closer. Bringing multiple mobs it would only attack what was in front it, but would switch to the other mob if the first was pulled away. Trading it would interrupt its rotation of Stoneskin and Halone, and it wouldn't move even if it was being hit and couldn't attack, nor would it cancel the trade.

Has anyone else seen this on their servers?

That sounds more like a player running a bot than a gil farmer running a bot. But still a bot, none the less.

Only way to get open world bots looked into is to get the Forum CM's to alert the devs to make the Game Surveillance Unit actually do their job and start banning them.
GM's don't want to know about it.

Almost the same on Moogle, the FC name is different and they are BLMs though.

The fact that it's a relic'd job means it's very unlikely to be RMT.

It's probably a character that has set up a 3rd party program to engage a macro every x seconds. This is against the ToS, but it's only provable if he has actually left his PC and is unable to respond.

It's possible he has a macro set up along the lines of "Cycle target left, Rage of Halone combo, Stoneskin" or whatever and is pressing the corresponding button on his controller every 30 secs or so while watching TV. This isn't against TOS.

The only way SE can determine if he's a bot or not is sending him a /tell. If he responds, there's nothing much they can do as he can prove he was at his PC while doing this.

I have a one-touch fishing macro set up for pretty much the same purpose. When my controller lights up, I press a button. 30 secs or so later the controller lights up and I press it again while watching TV.

I have the sound all silent apart from /tell alerts. So I know if someone wants to speak to me.

The problem is that "reporting" in game or here in Forums is pretty much useless - the best / most "direct" way to contact the special unit (GSU) dealing with RMT, cheaters and boters is actually via Lodestone - second part of the screen. If you still have a bit of faith and effort left please try to report them there as well - hopefully increased amount reports there will trigger finally some more firm actions ...

If you ask me, SE cares more about their sub. No profit for them to ban them.

Remember boys and girls, if you spot a bot and they're currently engaged in combat... Open trade with them. It will cancel any and all actions, they will die and you can dance on their body right after. My FC and I do this to botters in North Shroud who kill the plasmoids. It's hilarious watching them fall one by one, and then after three deaths they slap busy on.
