Atma is not broken for it to get a "fix" --sounds like an insult to the devs, also, I do hate the atma drop rate and wish for it to 'change'
so please, developers, make a change :\

To those who said Atma farming is fine... I expect you to have obtained your Alexandrites via FATEs... BEFORE the drop buff.
Oh well, they raised the drop for Alexandrites and NOT for the Atmas.
They nerfed/changed EVERYTHING (Coil, bosses, dungeons, relix quest) but not this step.
They gave options for every step so you can choose whatever method you like, EXCEPT for this step.
This is what really bothers me: the lack of a choice.
You are simply forced to collect Atmas in that specific way.
And I bet all my money, when they will give us an option for Atma farming EVERYONE, including the "Oh my Gwad!I luv so much Atma RNG (cause I got my Atmas within few days)!" will stop doing FATEs.
Wait, what options did I have for relic and relic zenith again?
I couldn't choose which primals to do or what job to do them on. (In fact you do have a bit of flexibility here as you can collect Atmas on any job you have zenith for). I couldn't choose which dungeons to do.
There was only one method for earning myth. Dungeons (CT wasn't released).
Yet another example of burying your head in the sand. People here are honestly disagreeing with you and you call them trolls. Trolling is making an argument for the sole purpose of getting people worked up. This isn't trolling, this is debating and you're throwing in the towel...

I see your point, but the fact that the Trials and dungeon involved for the Relic have been nerfed (you can get your Relic in a day. In 2.0, some players were stuck on Titan HM for weeks/months) and Myth being removed next patch (so 450 Soldiery will probably be required for Zenith), your argument kinda doesn't work...
Tsuwu, RNG is RNG. Around a month ago, I spent maybe 3 hours a day farming Atma for my BRD. It took me around 3 days (around 7-9 hours) to get one Atma in Upper La Noscea, 5 days for Eastern Thanalan (around 13-15 hours) and I gave up after two days in Western Thanalan. I could have spent more hours farming for Atma, but I chose not to. Because it gets really boring doing level 3-25 FATE's.
The Atma number is 42. Every click counts as five minutes. How many "minutes" does it take for you to get 42 12 times?

The trials haven't been nerfed. Ifrit was actually made harder when they altered the way debuff resistances worked.I see your point, but the fact that the Trials and dungeon involved for the Relic have been nerfed (you can get your Relic in a day. The troll comment was directed towards someone else, they know who they are.
I get it. You people love your grind. However, those who CAN put in 4 day insane no life grind to complete one, or who got really lucky with their drops, we're happy for you, seriously. Just don't assume that everyone is going to think the same as you, or have the same luck as you. Because a system was painless for you, while being severely difficult for others, doesn't == keep it that way.
If I wanted to be really indepth on how many people don't like the system as it is now, i could go linking all the million other threads sayin' that exactly, but hey, I don't ahve time for that.
But then what is the point of this thread? Without a 'like' for those who don't want a change how are SE to interpret the results? With that extra option you could at least say 'there are more who liked my post than liked the counter post'. Are SE to assume that everyone who read this thread and didn't reply actually disagrees with you Really, most people I play with in-game are far more annoyed by the huge gil sink that's two steps further in. Do you have some kind of poll that indicates this is the most annoying part or is the word 'Clearly' supposed to mean we should take it at face value? Not arguing for the sake of argument, but your statement doesn't jive with the experience of myself or anyone I know in-game.

all this time arguing I got 2 more atma. I only need 5 more and I'll have done it 9 times. I'm keeping two sets on my retainer, one for when ninja comes out and another for the expansion. Its really not that bad. there is some RNG to it i'll give you that. I've gotten 5 back to back in under a half hour. I've also gone 2 days trying to get one. A dedicated person should be able to get an atma weapon in a little over a week if they put their mind to it.
It's one of the few tasks that isn't handed to you on a silver platter and while its hard its not as game breaking as you seem to think. I suspect a lot of people get caught up in the Gambler's fallacy
Thing is most "normal" players will only do this once or twice. There are plenty of other ways to progress now.
Since this thread was created, I've gotten 6 Atma.
Since this Sunday, I've gotten 11 Atma.
No more than 26 hours invested, max.
That is with completing all my IRL duties as a full time grad student, a day trader, an executive assistant, booking my fan fest accommodations, and having two dates.
It's really not broken.
Just takes something that's going extinct: patient perseverance.
