Japanese PvP is awesome

As a final example of my concern, back in FF11/ballista on Fenrir server, I came accross another JP mnk who I pretty much went to war with. Skillwise, he was as solid as they come. We never exchanged words personally on Fenrir but both his fighting style and gear selection (he always wore Kotes at match lineup time) made him stand out. Sooner or later, he left for another server.

Once I got to Lakshmi and jumped into its ballista, I began fighting another mnk that heavily reminded me of him, though with a different name. One match line up, he sends me a tell (Hello monk monster!) and I just take a gamble and respond, calling him by the name of my rival on Fenrir. Low and behold, its the same guy. He ends up calling me 'big brother; -we were both Galkas, I large size, he tiny- and refuses to attack me anymore!-_-

This, save for one time where he accidently does...then immediately sends a tell and actually apologizes mid fight ><; Needless to say, Im touched beyond words, but the whole exchange is maddening for the simple reason that good PvP NEEDS that kind of passionate hatred and malice. I dunno..maybe Ive just been around NA's too long and have acquired a taste for the animosity playing amongst em generates...but in simple truth, it seems that kind of spirit is completely lacking in JP heavy matches. Thats a good thing I guess from a moral standpoint. But....

I was on Chaos too, and i also got a 10 hour queue some time ago. But i think the average time on Chaos was around 30min.
