I give fair warn first that experience depend on which server player plan to join, not every JP player is OK with English speaker.

As I type before in other thread, is not because of racism but sometime because do not know much English. Communicate become very difficult sometime unless you know some hira or kata to give idea. In some case will be needed to talk to others? Then become problem if you can not understand dialect.

You can try ping all JP server and find where not much lag problem?

I reply for information only. Kujata is Elemental Data Center with Tonberry which is wide known as community with both English speaker and JP speaker so communication most of time is easier.

Most should be able to speak EN and JP if join Content Finder group.

Japanese players aren't very good. Dunno why, as they excel at most games, but there really not very good at mmos. Been keeping up with their WD since the beginning and I've always been underwhelmed. Activity and the community is much better though.
Activity and community is because there no point in boycott PVP or complain and say do not want to play PVP. Many PVP for fun or to grind level? But usually do with mindset to try win while do so.

I would not say JP excel at MMO in same way most NA people understand word "excel". Both player culturally different, maybe play for different reason? or at least play game at different level of intensity?
    Can be many reason.

On data center I play on, many time player have been kick from PVP game randomly and no word exchange. This problem have been occur many time since vote kick issue into PVP and is not only kick English speaker but also JP player. On outside website of SqE forum, is mention they remove people for many reason which both childish and sometime silly.
If most really want transfer server then: If this happen to you, I advise you take note some name in party then report to SqE harassment.

Other than that if remain respectful then will be no problem, as I have had NA player in party before but always say thing to be negative and he dismissed from party not too long after.

I hope you enjoy life on new server~

Japanse players are like a wolfpack, if you are not behave like in a pack, you get isolated. They also will actively use the tools given to them, such as blacklisting and votekicking. If you want to play on Japanse servers but want to keep EN playing style and atitude, you might as well forget it. In general, the PvP community is bigger and friendlier but dont think they are innocent lamb. They have a blacklist with names on 2ch after all. Once your name made to this list, you are going to have hard time to find any party.

Skill wise..... they are wolfpack, very dangerous in number.

I would recommand it is better to create an alt character on their server just PvP. The servers are phsyciall located at Japan after all.

So much posts here. Didnt expect that.^^

So far, the lag from earlier today was gone now. It just feels now like i am still on phoenix. Did found an english speaking player today (Did call out for english people in mor dhona) who was able to help me a bit. He said there is an english fc on Kujata, but i got an fl pop so i wasnt able to ask him more about it. Well anyway, almost all japanese players dont speak english or just dont want to do it. You have to use auto translation most of the time. I didnt even needed to take the lead in any frontline match there so far because everyone just knews what to do.

But prepare for much more incoming blackmage sleeps. :O

I think most tradition NA player can ignore blacklist in some way? I try to give example situation.
Blacklist meant to be shameful and tell many of certain player behavior but very rare such thing will affect NA player who transfer to JP server. I take example of player who do not speak Japanese and in thread case, only there to PVP mostly and not so concern with doing Binding Coil unless it is in content finder.

With such example I use, if only want PVP and content finder duty then is still OK even if name on list. I know some NA player on Tiamat server who only craft item to sell and do not care about doing latest PVE content or some who refuse to join FC because rather play by self in leisure time. Some also will not join JP FC since very hard to understand JP and sometime seen as pointless? They tell me rather have friend list than FC, but even if friend list empty still OK since play game to find own fun or make money to afford Large FC house and build small empire.

Basically if NA player who is transferring is self-sufficient type of player, do not need group or FC to play game and can be happy with own company then very easy to fit into any environment without care of such blacklist.
Some player who will leave group when see blacklisted player name? Is also ok and matter little. Not everyone do this, I see this quite childish and infantile to leave just because you see someone name on a list when you do not know them personal.
Some player votekick when they see blacklisted player in duty? Report and notify SqE for further action.

Person in my FC tell me that NA player can play on JP server mostly fine if live on West Coast?
Would be closer to JP area than place like New York, or lag will not be as bad as than in different place. It depend though.

Underline is correct, many will not speak English as do not see reason to.
If you are in JP server by label then is so call "subject to JP society", mean JP become main language and behavior as NA is minority. Certain JP player sometime speak English to NA player if they do not understand JP, but not all JP player will do same thing.

If basically know what to do then should not need to even talk most of time since you do everything right.
But if want to do some PVE content, I advise that JP player do different than NA player for some fight but if you play on JP server long time, will learn JP way and everything become more or less normal.

Not to sound like someone on the "JP are the best" bandwagon, but they've always been, for the most part, extremely friendly and AMAZING PvP players, even during my time in FFXI. Hell, they were the ONLY ones doing PvP on most servers! I REALLY wish servers weren't segregated, I miss being able to log in at night to PvP with the JP players and being able to play with english speakers during the day.

Ya, Square really should allow pvp players to play worldwide with all data centers. The wait times for americans and europeans arent acceptable in any way right now. I did already post this picture somewhere else, but this was my last queue in chaos data center:

And this is what i have got on japanese server:

    After some more days:
    - It seems that Maelstrom isnt winning every game there. Feels like the winning percentage is around 30% Maelstrom, 30% Adders, 40% Flames.

    - Most if not all frontline games are with 70-72 people. That means you dont have the situation that B is missing 3 guys, while A and B are only 6 people...

    - You never need to ask for more healers. Almost every A/C group does have 3 healer, 2 tanks and 3 dds. Just seems like a common knowledge.

    - Way more healers with tank jewelry compared to NA/EU.

    - Sometimes the game shows me the non synced stats from the group. Idk if that affects anything.

    - Sleep in combination with Limit on flag is used far more often.

    - Healers arent that focused as they are in NA/EU.

    - Japanese non-peak time is by far better then peak european.

    - Did play three frontlines while posting this.

Honestly, based on the comparison you just posted about, it totally sounds like Frontlines is WAY more fun on the Japan servers. Not having to beg and plead for healers? Being able to go healer and not having every opposing enemy target you. Having full parties from the start. The list goes on and on.

Heh my first character is on Kujata I moved to that server because when the game first came out all the NA servers were closed lol. Maybe I'll get back to my Kujata character for PVP.

Agreed. Ballista became my #1 reason for playing ff11 and I migrated multiple times to find the heaviest servers with it, finally ending on Lakshmi. Those were fun days setting the alarm clock to wake at 3:30AM to slug it out with the JPs (who still showed up during NA hours too.) The playstyles are noticably different during time shifts but it was nice to see tactics and such from different perspectives.

    Contemplating server jumping but...

Basing this off my ballista experiences with JPs back in FF11, its quite certain to say that they're very respectful and quite friendly as a group, patient. Especially in PvP, its noticable how they work as a 1-person-team (not surprised at all to hear it said theres always enough healers and such.) But in exchange for this ..and this is probably gonna sound rather twisted to say but.. ...theres just not enough good ol malice and hatred to go around. Its TOO respectful sometimes.

    I feel like Im one of the few people who LOVES getting teabagged -god that sounds bad- because in addition to being imformative, it gives you alll kinds of incentive to return the favor (oh the sweet tells sent during ballista days after killing an opponent). But JPs HEAVILY frown on stuff like this -see a few of the other posts-and on a predominantly JP server, all the things that really give PvP its fangs..are kinda watered down^^;
