just because you made a mistake doesnt mean it requires a rework of the system. Mistakes happen...besides....nothing happens ever for no reasons, who says that this unidentified piece wont turn useful at a later stage?...so the sad of today maybe be the happy tomorrow....

seriously, nothing wrong with loot as it is today, run again in a week and probably piece will drop again for you.
