    The future of branches

    Many of the items in the game are useless. I'm somewhat curious if we can get some detail into to the future of the many useless branches in the game, now that they are no longer repair materials.

    It would sure save a lot of inventory space.

    Branches are stll used in recipes. There is a small chance that, though, they just become unobtainable after recipes update, just like spetches, fents and other materials that were also used in recipes but the main role was repairing.

    Use the NQ as an NPC gil-tap.
    Use the HQ for making the odd wand or tool shaft, aiming for HQ result, remainder sold to the gil-tap.

    To me, they're now not much different from Iron Acorns and I treat them as such.

    IMO woodchips should be removed from the LOG recipe and moved over to branches. You should also get smaller random amounts of woodchips anytime you use raw lumber. Craft a bow, you get x3 wood chips also.

    That is actually a really smart idea.

    In fact, the recepie for woodchips should at least be obtainable by using a number of branches as an alternative to the more valuable logs, much in the same way you need 6 iron sand to get the same amount of iron nuggets as from 4 iron ore.

    But there ARE a few branches which really do not serve any purpose any longer, for example, oak branches. You geat loads of those when gathering and you cannot craft ANYTHING at all with them, they are completely useless now (after the patch) D:

    Branches are generally used for wands and since CON is the in-thing now HQ branches should be pretty hot

    Should be yeah, but when I'm sitting on about 350 +2 walnut branches and a stack of +3s they really aren't. Over-supply is a big problem in gathering. Yew and walnut logs are the only items worth anything yet even they are fast becoming worthless now that CRP is much easier to rank up due to leve buffs. Supply of all gathered items needs to be reduced significantly.
