What's going on here? (BB with innov and GS)

This happened a couple of times and I fall short 10% to HQ despite the same conditions and circumstances.

In the first image, you see me using up BB's with both innovation and great strides, gaining only 1300 quality in the process. In the second image, you see me doing the same thing but instead maxing out in quality and hitting 100%

In both scenarios, the rotations were kept the same (noted by remaining durability), the stacks of IQ are the same (previous basic touch hits for 221), and the quality for both cases were normal (good would show a CRIT!, and the difference between 1.6k+ and 1.3k is too low for it to be a poor)

I was under the impression that ingeunity/level difference didn't account for quality increases.

Well then, that's my cup of knowledge for the day. Thanks for that.

Edit: Though this is also partly the reason why I'd like to see over-qualities on log instead of just over-progresses

There is a penalty to quality increase if the recipe is higher than your level. Ingenuity removes it (for normal, 1-star and 2-star) or reduces it (for 3-star).
