This has everything to do with preventing the perpetuation of dumbing down the game and keeping the player base ignorant and unskilled.
I have not cleared Titan EX yet, I just can't. I don't know wether it's me or bad parties, but I have never been able to beat it. When they finally unlocked the other Extreme fights, I downed Moogle EX at my first attempt and Leviathan and Ramuh at my second. Just because you can't do one specific thing doesn't mean you can't do everything else.
