    I personally don't believe any story content should be locked behind extremely difficult fights.
    I'm fine with those fights existing for the challenge and loot, but to me the story should be for everyone.

    Of course SE is free to design the game the way they wish. If they intend for the coil story to only be experienced by a few than that's the way it is, though to me the addition of echo suggests they do want more people to clear these fights eventually.
    I agree with the post a few pages back that said it would be better to have separate story modes and no echo on the normal versions to help preserve their challenge.

    However, let's fix the story element then!


    Let's make coil a mindless zerg with each boss being a white box, in a white room.

    Each new white box has new mechanics, including any adds that will also be white boxes.



    We might expand on the colours in the future to keep it interesting, but god forbid that there should be an interesting story/design that Sunny Susan who plays for 1 hour a day when she isn't looking after he kids, who can't put 2 hours a week into doing coil might miss out on!

    "IF ONLY THERE WAS A WAY FOR SUSAN TO SEE IT. OH WAIT, SHE CAN." People have uploaded EVERY cutscene, the only thing you are missing is the fight. THAT IS IT.

    Simple, very very simple, I'm sure as it's this easy your first T5 kill only took your static a few trys then?

    The rest of us must be really stupid, as it took most of us many hours back in 2.0/2.1 to kill tiwn, yet the machanics were exactly the same as discribed above.

    Actually the vast majority of the wipes were caused by our terrible gear and the occasional mistake more than anything.

    The actual learning process was extremely easy.

    It was the exact same with FFXI, or any MMO for that matter.

    They're going to add a story for this content, crying because "I didnt get to participate in EVERY aspect of the game" is just sad.



    CAN they add this? Yes, they're considering methods for it.

    Are they likely to do it as described by the OP? Not likely.


    The entire story is available for your viewing pleasure, RIGHT NOW.
    If you just want to know the story, then skipping the fights won't be that big of an issue for you.

    Nothing about the fight is extremely difficult. It has a couple of unique mechanics which take a few runs to learn and get used to. If you haven't beaten it by now, There's usually a good reason.
