They also give no rewards. Extreme mode primals are the equivalent content for coil.

Thus far, nobody has been able to articulate why a story mode coil is an actual problem. All I'm hearing is "you shouldn't be able to see the cutscene unless you can clear the harder mode" Which you could just as easily apply to the primals and "Development time for my stuff!" which isn't a convincing argument at all.
