Im just asking cuz I usually play FF14arr a lot and whatever, but when a game that I pre-ordered comes out,I usually stop paying for FF14arr for a while and play my pre-ordered game for at least a month(well, I play until I get sick of it lol,Im kind of like a trophy hunter too so I try to get a 100%)anyways,I guess I was lucky cuz I stopped playing for a while(had no money/time)and I started playing again after 32 days so they almost took my house!lol I am a FC leader and I was the one who bought the house myself for the company I thought it was longer than 35 days wth. Besides, I fell like they only said this to make ppl feel scared, no one was like "they took my house after day 36!"but then again you cant underestimate SE lol, but 35 days?really?35 days is nothing, and you can't say plan ahead cuz you dont know the future!a family member could die,you could go on vacation for a month in another country or you might have to save up for something. Be realistic come on!

I feel sorry for an FC who's leader goes MIA for 30+ days. In that scenario, the house wouldn't have been lost, the lead of the FC would have been transferred to your other members and they'd have control of the FC + house. Assuming you still have members. In that case you really should plan a head and give lead to someone who's actually active while you're away for a month Mr.FC leader. And again, for the hypotheticals, you can keep shelling them out but there's really no reason you can't find a moment to log in (You should know your billing dates, if you can't make a payment plan ahead and let your FC know), and if you really can't the only loss you'll suffer is your plot location. As an FC leader though you're only in trouble of losing control of your neglected FC, unless you have a one man FC just for your own personal house. In which case you need to deal with the choice you've made as you've signed up for a system that's meant to protect other players.

I've never quite understood where the "if you're not going to be logging in every month you don't deserve a house" faction is coming from because by that kind of thinking anyone who doesn't have a house yet doesn't deserve one - what, you didn't spend months grinding for millions and then call-in sick on patch-day to beat the land-rush? Well no house for you 'cause people who let real life get in the way don't deserve a house.

That's quite a leap you made there.

About as big a leap as "if you don't play for a month you deserve to lose the house you paid for", I'd say.

If your schedule does not allow you to log in ONE every 30 days, why bothers to purchase a house or even keeping it for that matter???

I am now regret of purchasing a personal room now because if I leave the current FC, I would lost 2 mil I used for furnitures...

And one day you got hit by a car and get into a coma for 3 months and after you come back from coma, you release from hospital 2 months after, log back into the game and you lose your medium (38kk for plot) or your large (70-80kk for plot) and you got a heart attack and fall into another coma. The end

The point is not about "if you don't log within 35 days you lost the house" or "if your real life schedule doesn't allow you to play often, you shouldn't own a house", the point is why player have to force to log into the game 1 every 35 days just to keep the house, it doesn't make any sense (but I think it does for some of you). If SE want to free housing, they should use another way other than the 35 days system, because it is not friendly to player.

ps: housing price are from Excalibur (price is only for plot, doesn't include build permit)

    My point:

If you are forced to move around due to the nature of your work, would you bother to spend a large sum of money to buy a house or even maintenance it.
If you have a car that not get driven to often, why bother keeping it and spend money on registration, insurance and maintenance it.

The resource is limited. They always stay the same but the demand having a house is always increasing. So SE takes back the house if they are not even in use. Or SE could always charge one much much higher to have a permanently housing plot instead of just 4 million or whatever the amount that its matter?

You loan a money from a bank to purchase a land. You got involved into an accident and you can not keep up with the payment, the bank will take back the land. End of story.

In Eorzea, you pay SE a small amount of money for a housing plot. If they thinks that the plots are not currently in use in a reasonable amount of time, they can take them back due to limited resources.

In both cases, you can always lodge a complain, dispute to the Bank, SE, to explain your personal circumstances and waiting for their response.

Though can we please keep all those worst incidents that ever could happen to one out of the game or this discussion, it is so disturbing...

This is a GAME after all...

You guys are aware, that the house removal feature or however it will be called is not in place yet? And that the 35 days for it are not set in tone yet?
    So calm down a bit.

Maybe they will do it like in other games that you will have to pay a monthly tax (payable in advance) to keep your plot.
If you want to take a break, pay the tax for 6 months and be sure you keep it. Don't pay and another player is happy.
