    Aetheryte Crystal teleport NPCs

Anyone who plays this game on a daily basis know Anima does not regenerate at a rate that allows for easy or even PAINLESS travel.

Place NPCs at Aetheryte crystals in the cities and at the camps that will for a gil fee teleport the player to any other Aetheryte crystal.

This provides a gil sink. It will also spare players the wasted time of running from anywhere else to Gridania when they are out of anima.

IT won't break the game, Aetheryte camps to Aetheryte camps or to the cities only. There will still be plenty of time wasted as players still have to run to their final destinations.

Yes it makes sense. 1 anima=1k gil maybe.
It is such a joke how slow the regeneration of anima is.

Yeah, I like your suggestion, and it also works that 1k gil per anima scales the rate up based on distance which is good. I would gladly pay an NPC 6k to get to Gridania when I am out of anima and save myself 10-15 minutes of my life running my character there.

Mmm, chocobos and airships in 1.19 should fix this problem.

Not exactly, Airships will be on a schedule. Chocobos are only good for short distances. These two things are only partial fixes to travel problems.

The problem really is balancing a sense of immersion with play-time efficiency. SE wants players to feel they are in an expansive world, players want to do things such as leves, raids and such rather than spend 10-15 minute chunks of time getting from 1 point to another. SE needs to make the chunks of travel time smaller, instantaneously get to points that reduce overall travel time.

Standing on a dock for 3-5 minutes to then stand on an airship for 4-8 minutes as it travels from point A to point B still wastes a significant portion of a players time each play session when added up.

Now I could shout for a teleport from Ul'dah to Gridania and pay 50k for it but then I am transferring 50k from me to another player and not removing that gil from the economy. There are players with hundreds of millions of gil. Paying an NPC to teleport removes that gil from the economy.

Paid teleports from Aetheryte Crystal to Aetheryte Crystal will still allow for the needed use of chocobos to reach the final destinations people are traveling to, and airships may offer free transport or lower cost transport form a city to another city than the teleport but both should still be cheaper than the 50k players demand for the service.

The player still has to get to an Aetheryte Crystal with this idea. They then still have to get from the Aetheryte Crystal they pay gil to teleport to their final destination.

If they want Airships to be popular, well add pirates or imperial attacks that take place only on the airships.
